New SWG, Does not seem to produce at advertised rates

I checked this morning and the cell version is H-15. I talked to Circupool customer support and that is the current/correct version for the Universal 55. They are going to send me some troubleshooting info and they were already harping on the potential presents of Phosphates as being the issue...

New SWG, Does not seem to produce at advertised rates

How do I check the cell version? Do you mean on the cell itself or inside the panel? I took the panel cover off but did not see anything that would indicate the cell type. There looks to be a small reset type button on the right side of the panel, but it is not labeled.

New SWG, Does not seem to produce at advertised rates

I went by my local pool store (pinch-a-penny) and got a water test done. Good news is that they aligned with everything I already knew, so no surprises there. Bad news I guess is that phosphates were at 1500ppb. Going to start researching phosphates now, never dealt with them before...

New SWG, Does not seem to produce at advertised rates

Yes, I am using the Taylor 1766. I did not have to add any salt when I installed the SWG as it was already at that level. I can certainly boost the salt, but it seems like a big gap between advertised production and actual for a measly 200ppm of Salt delta. The manual states the ideal level is...

New SWG, Does not seem to produce at advertised rates

I made the switch last weekend from liquid chlorine to SWG and am confused at the lack of results. I am still running tests, so this post may be premature, but hoping to get insight. I oversized the SWG considerably, Circupool Universal 55 for a 16,500 gallon pool. SWG should generate...

Impeller Size for Pentair WF-28 w/ v-green 2.7 vs motor

Based on the pump controller yes. In any event I am going to upsize the impeller when I get the replacement motor in and will report back if I notice any difference.

Shaft seal leak or something else

I did use the salt kit from inyo so it is the higher rated seal...I don’t recall exactly what lube I used to install the shaft seal if any at all. It was 9 months ago. I rewatched the Inyo install video just now and they didn’t use any so it is likely i didn‘t either.

Impeller Size for Pentair WF-28 w/ v-green 2.7 vs motor

Yes, my results were back to back comparisons between motors as well. I am just now seriously considering g impeller since the new motor is off again anyway.

Impeller Size for Pentair WF-28 w/ v-green 2.7 vs motor

that is what I don’t understand, with the new pump at full speed I expected the same flow at a minimum, but it is noticeably decreased at my spa returns.

Shaft seal leak or something else

Last year I replaced the motor on my Pentair WF-28 pump and replaced all seals. I took that motor off today and noticed some white residue on the bottom part of the motor behind the impeller and quite a bit on the underside of the motor as well causing the paint to peel. I looked back at my...

Impeller Size for Pentair WF-28 w/ v-green 2.7 vs motor

Thanks James, I had measured TDH using pressure and vacuum gauges when the original Pentair motor was installed and when I installed the new motor and came up with 60 feet of head. With that it looks like I would gain roughly 10gpm by switching the impeller. There was no water in the...

Impeller Size for Pentair WF-28 w/ v-green 2.7 vs motor

Last spring I changed out my Pentair WF-28 2.2 THP single speed motor with a V-Green 2.7 THP variable speed motor. Overall I have been disappointed with the flow as I have tried various speed settings and times and the suction from the new motor even when on max speed does not seem to perform as...

    V-Green Motors - Consensus Opinion

I like that as well for future upgrade. Overall controller seems to have more options and y understanding is that it can be mounted remotely, can you confirm? Is that an add on kit or just additional wiring?

    V-Green Motors - Consensus Opinion

So your waterfalls perform well even at 1,750 RPM? I don’t know why the previous owner/PB installed a separate 1hp pump for the (2) small water shears I have soI may re-plumb to have the option to run off the new pump and see how they do.

    V-Green Motors - Consensus Opinion

What is the consensus opinion (if there is such a thing) on the Champion V-Green motors sold through inyo pools? I have found a few comments by searching the forum on folks that have bought the motor only and and it does seem like people have been fairly happy with the pureline pumps which have...

    Stain identification

Plaster is only approximately 7 years old, seems early to be worn out doesn’t it...not sure what plaster product they used exactly and certainly don’t know the quality of the work when it was done.

    Stain identification

I purchased my home with pool a few months ago and found TFP rather quickly and have been trying to absorb as much info and follow the procedures as much as possible. Previous owner used tabs so right away I figure out I had to drain water to lower my CYA and have been using bleach and MA since...

Water level drops at pump in spa mode

Thanks Jim. When I get my filter put back together I will try that. I doubt it is the connection point to the pump due to lack of bubbles when sucking from the pool skimmers. What I don’t understand is the water level drop in the pump basket when suction is from the spa drain and return is to...

Water level drops at pump in spa mode

See attached pics...On the suction side I can choose pool skimmers or spa bottom drains. There used to be a valve to choose between pool skimmers and bottom drains (left valve in bottom picture), but it looks like they capped that pipe and now the bottom drains are only used if the water feature...

Another pool owner in Houston (shocker)

It is a single speed (Pentair WF-28). Water falls have their own 1HP pump so those aren’t a factor, but not sure how the spa comes into play. The spa does have a separate blower that can be turned on.

Water level drops at pump in spa mode

When operating my pool in normal mode (suction from skimmers and return to pool) my 2HP Pentair pump has maybe 3 or 4 bubbles that linger at the top. If I move the 2-way valve to suction from the spa bottom drain and leave the return to the pool, more air bubbles are introduced into the pump...
