    Dolphin Escape not working

We took it to the pool store. They checked the cable and it was fine, they checked the power supply and it works with nothing connected to it. When you connect the vacuum and try to turn it on the light flashes and nothing else happens. Hubby had purchased a new cable. Is the cable supposed to...

    Air in pump

Thanks again for ALL the responses! Your advice is invaluable! Well, it's working beautifully. Here's what I did: Dropped the level of the pump about 8" Re-plumbed the section that was leaking Added a ball valve (being a novice I realized I put the valve between the pump and the union instead...

    Air in pump

Thanks for the quick replies! I did notice a couple of drips at joints - I'll fix those tomorrow. AND I did not check or lube the o-ring - I'll do that tomorrow as well. Thanks again! Love this forum!

    Air in pump

Hello All, We finally got our new AGP up and running. We purchased a 18x33x54 oval saltwater pool from The Pool Factory and finally get it installed and filled. I piped the plumbing system using SCH40 2" PVC, mainly because Lowes and HD were out of 1.5". The pump is a 1.5HP Hayward PowerFlo...

Replacing our Intex UltraFrame and looking for suggestions

Some of the supports broke on our Intex pool so we're looking to replace it. I'm planning on installing the new pool myself and I'm looking for recommendations to hear what others are using, where you bought, and how it's working. Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Air in the filter basket

Thanks for the referral. I ordered an SJ40, should have it in a couple of days. I'll post pics when I get it set up! Thank you all for the great advice. Love this site!

    Air in the filter basket

That is what I was wondering about. I am quickly becoming "not a fan" of the Intex stuff, but the unit was the least expensive and, for the most part, we were really happy with the SWG attached to the Intex pump. Should I be looking at a compatible Hayward SWG? Thanks for your input!

    Air in the filter basket

The weir door is moving and looks to be operating normally. I'll take some pics tomorrow morning and post them. I've looked at all the joints and don't see any leaks. I also made sure that all the threaded fittings are nice and tight. Thanks for your input!

Intex 18ft X 9ft X 52in Ultra XTR Rectangular Pool placed on top of the pawers

We have an Intex 16x32 UltraFrame and are going on our third season with it. I put 2x12 pieces under the metal supports and they have held up nicely. I have heard horror stories about using pavers under the supports so we opted for wood and have had no issues. I also put 4x8 foam sheets under...

    Air in the filter basket

I upgraded our Intex pump to a Hayward 1.5hp pump and sand filter and wow, what a difference! I've been running the pump continuously for about a week to get the water clear and clean. Well, today I connected and started up the SWG, which is an Intex 26665EG Ozone Saltwater System and now I'm...

    After hurricane numbers

Should we lower the PH first, and then turn the SWG off and add the bleach to raise it to 5-6? Then perform an OCLT tonight? or keep the SWG on when running pump?

    After hurricane numbers

FC 1.6 this am. The pump and SWG were not running last night. We are on a generator. Have no power yet, so only running the pump 10 hours sporadically because of generator use. We added salt yesterday, as that was low.

    After hurricane numbers

We have cleaned the pool out. It is clear. Do we just add chlorine, or do we SLAM it? It is a salt water pool. These are our numbers: FC 1.4 PH 8.0 TA 180 CYA 80 Salt 4800 Yesterday's numbers. Testing again this morning. Thanks!

New Pool owners - green on bottom of pool

Last night: FC 8.6 (thought it was low, but decided to test again this morning to see if it would pass the test) ALk 170 CYA 70 PH 8 Salt 3600 This morning FC 6.4 Keep on with SLAM and bring FC back up?

New Pool owners - green on bottom of pool

We have been working on the SLAM. The pool is clean looking. We forgot to take the FC last night. I'm not sure it does not have a very slight haze...not sparkling..... FC 8 CC 0 CYA 50 PH 7.8-8 TA 160 Do we need to continue SLAM and raise FC again? or do we start to try and adjust the PH a bit...

New Pool owners - green on bottom of pool

Okay, so assume CYA is at 30 even if it is salt water? To lower PH it says 49 oz of muriatic acid....and to go from 0 to 28 FC it says to add 836 oz of 6% bleach. (The bleach is household bleach, no scent.) Does this sound accurate? Thank you so much for all your help!

New Pool owners - green on bottom of pool

Should we wait til the CYA is all dissolved and the level above 30 before the SLAM process?

New Pool owners - green on bottom of pool

These are our numbers: CYA - sample not cloudy at all FC -0 (no pink) CC - 1 PH - 8.0 AK- 150 PPM CH - 190 PPM Salt (can't test yet, need recommendations on best way to test) We just put a sock with CYA in it....80 oz. and running pump. Not sure where to go from here. Do we go ahead and add...
