Bumping this old thread. We ended up selling our house and I just wanted to post some pics of how the landscaping grew in that first year. Building a new house and we are going with a geometric design. I'll make a thread once it gets started!

Just wanted to update now that I'm starting to get used to the process and see if most of this sounds correct. In the evenings I've been adding about a half gallon of bleach on a regular day and a gallon of bleach on a swim day. And 2-4 cups of MA. Current reading this evening after a swim...

Landscaping went in the past 2 days. Did Japanese Blueberry on the back fence, 3 queen palms, Indian Hawthorne around the round border, and some wax ligustrum by our bedroom windows. Finally starting to feel complete.

Thank you, sounds like I can stick with the trichlor pucks for a few more weeks until my CYA gets up the that level (and adding bleach as needed for good FC level). Once CYA hits 50 ppm and I'm just supplementing with bleach and MA to stay in my FC and PH targets, the CYA shouldn't really change...

Day 2 of taking it off and putting it back on: 4:41 off 12:08 on Our design and rocks definitely make it a challenge. On a more standard shape with no rocks I bet it could be 3 minutes off and 8 minutes on.

A kid could probably walk on it. It is easier to take off than put on but we do have a pretty complicated pool for it. I think it is the best safety device for young kids (we have a 1 and 4 year old). Here are some pics:
