Reputable repair person (or competent DIYer) needed

I have a couple of relatively simple issues going on and although I think I could muddle through it, it would probably be done better and quicker if someone who knew more about things than me did it. However, I don’t know where to get such a person. I am in the San Francisco East Bay...

Ugh, my spa is leaking. What do I do?

Thanks @ajw22 As a followup to this, I regrouted all the areas on the inside where I showed the cracks. (I didn’t actually grind out all the existing grout, so that may have been a mistake). Some of the cracks were very fine in the travertine, so I am not sure how well the sanded grout was...

Ugh, my spa is leaking. What do I do?

Okay, I tore off the tile all the way up to the spillover because I couldn’t tell where the water was coming from. Even if I dried it it would still get wet again. I am not 100% sure but my latest guess is it is flowing underneath the travertine that makes up the spillover. So, I drained the...

Ugh, my spa is leaking. What do I do?

We have a connected spa with a spillover into our pool. I noticed quite a lot of scale on the glass tiles underneath the spillover. I originally thought it was just the spillover water causing this. However, as I was cleaning the tiles, I noticed there was still water dripping into the pool...

How do you deal with being away from home (e.g. vacation)?

This sounds like a great idea. If only there were some way to find other people who practice TFP methods. I wonder if this nearby person is around during the Thanksgiving holiday...

How do you deal with being away from home (e.g. vacation)?

Just checking with the group on the best ways to deal with being away from the pool for a week or two. My pool uses about 2 ppm per day during the summer and I normally only use liquid chlorine. So, my plan was to just bring the FC level up really high and let it fall down to normal levels...

UGH! My first positive CC test. What did I do wrong?

Thanks for your replies. It makes me feel better. I guess I didn't really connect that dead leaves are essentially the same as having algae in the water in terms of using up FC and creating CC. (I was thinking it needed to be living, but that doesn't make sense because I know that organic...

UGH! My first positive CC test. What did I do wrong?

Newly built pool this July. I have been doing TFP since I took over from the "startup guy". He didn't do much. No CYA, no calcium, no measurable chlorine a couple days after he left. Since then, I have added things to get close to all the TFP recommended levels. CYA at 40, TA 80, CH 325...
