    Algae. How to attack?

When I have this issue I use the SLAM process and it works fantastic. You need to determine how much (I use bleach) to add depending on gallons and water chemistry (should be balanced properly before SLAMMING).

Not able to lower phosphates and not sure why

Water is balanced and has been for some time now because I keep a watchful eye on it. BUT phosphates are around 3200ppm on fresh water 8700 gallon pool. Free CL is 3.7, PH 7.6, TA 110, CH 225, CYA 100. DE filter was just cleaned as well. Water looks good, nice and clear with occasional alge...

Hayward H400 Heater will not operate

Ok I removed the motor and it spins freely no issue there. So would the capacitor prevent the burner from firing up. This is an electronic ignition unit I believe.

Hayward H400 Heater will not operate

I have an H400 Hayward pool/jacuzzi heater that would not fire up after it sat for about 4 months not being used. Prior to this for the last 9 years it worked flawlessly. The heat is outside but under an awning. Yesterday I open her up and made sure all contacts were clean and no cobwebs or...

Leaves Found In Impeller - Getting Past the Pump Basket-How?

Re: Leaves Found In Impeller - Getting Past the Pump Basket- From what I can see in this pump's design, if the seal around the U shaped opening is compromised in any way, then debris / leaves etc would be able to go around the basket and enter the impeller chamber. not sure what seal you are...
