I have an H400 Hayward pool/jacuzzi heater that would not fire up after it sat for about 4 months not being used. Prior to this for the last 9 years it worked flawlessly. The heat is outside but under an awning.
Yesterday I open her up and made sure all contacts were clean and no cobwebs or spider webs were present.
The control panel lights up as though it is working fine. I do get the "bo" code but I have always gotten that code since we have owned it.
I checked the voltage coming in and it is 240vac. and I checked the voltage on the other side of the front panel switch and it is 240vac.
I then checked the voltage across the T terminals on the Thermopile and when I set the VOM on 200mv it reads 1.5 to 1.6. I think it is supposed to read 450 to 550???
I pulled off all the terminals and cleaned them.
Then I noticed the fan motor casing was very hot, so hot IO could not keep my fingers on it.
I do not hear any noise when it is turned on and I do not hear a pilot light lighting up when it is suppose to kick on.
I am not sure what to do next. I hope I can get fixed without having to call someone out.
Oh I should mention that rodents chewed thru some of the wires that go from the Jandy computer/control center to the heater and so I replaced the wires and the power on the heater control panel returned.
I also made sure no water was in the tubes that run from the temp limit switches. I also removed the igniter and the other "probe" that sticks inside the burner box and blew compressed air on them.
TIA
