Best Places to Buy Liquid Chlorine

They are done for the season. Makes zero sense to me why they quit in July

Safety question - Adding muriatic acid

I’ve always used a painters bucket that has the oz lines on the side, fill a good ways with pool water then add the acid into that until you get what you need and dump the dilution in the pool. Hate dealing with that stuff

    Sticky frogs

If they are tree frogs they won’t care about the chlorine no matter how high it is, they also won’t care about water movement, they’d jump in front of the returns and just go flying last year. Covering is about the best you can do. Aside from clearing brush etc Also I’ve read water temp is a...

    Sticky frogs

If the chlorine doesn’t kill them they could be tree frogs. The woods behind us is completely infested and we were attacked multiple times by them last year. So far I’ve had success with leaving the leaf net and solar cover on so they can’t get into it at least. It’s helped with the noise so...

Preparing a pool for vacation when you can't run the pump

My pool is surrounded by trees too and we just put the leaf net and or solar cover over the pool while we are gone

First attempt at pool DIY - Major leakage

Must be something about pool companies and putting stuff weird places, I hunted all over for some bolts last year (used to hold the old safety cover in place) they ended up being in an old chlorine puck bucket that I thought still had pucks in it)

    HD/Lowe’s chlorine buyers chime in!

I prefer the hdx bleach but haven’t seen any fresh yet this year in the hickory store

TFP seems to be too good to be true

This site is fire. Had an awful time getting our new to us pool going last year. Opening was a breeze this year, test, add some baking soda and bleach done. (Plus pressure wash everything and put the solar cover and leaf net back on to keep those Dang tree frogs at least out of it)

new pump size (plus plumbing question)

Well, we installed it 2 weeks ago along with a flowvis and new Jandy valve. Had some free time today to see if it would prime and get all the air out of the filter for Saturday opening. No leaks in the plumbing we did (thankfully I was worried) but the pressure side union was leaking bad so...

    Dolphin s300i question (super easy)

Finally got one this year. Reading through the documentation I think it says do not use if fc is over 4ppm is that what everyone else does or no?

new pump size (plus plumbing question)

Ultimately went with the superflo. Thanks for all the input. Here’s to a far more smooth summer than last year.

new pump size (plus plumbing question)

Thanks, more food for thought, not worried about the money just want to have all my ducks in a row before I go in. I’d bet that old pump was costing me $80-$100 per month last year. $20 sounds magical. Hopefully it won’t be rain fest all summer like last year and we can get out there more...

new pump size (plus plumbing question)

Thanks and that’s how it’ll be when I redo it all. For sure. Still on the fence about Intelliflo versus superflo. I’ll never ever have automation. Sounds like all I would really gain is 5 more rpm settings and some energy efficiency which is important ( I got smoked on power bill last year...

new pump size (plus plumbing question)

As promised, no idea what the logic was here but I’m guessing it’s not necessary and when I go in to replace equipment I can go straight pipe from valve to pump

new pump size (plus plumbing question)

getting ready to pull the trigger on a new pump. going from single speed 1.5hp to either Pentair 342001 or Pentair 011018, i've got all 1.5" plumbing and that's never going to change, I wasn't sure if the 011018 running at full blast would potentially damage any of the plumbing or would I only...

    Frogs...too many frogs

An update. Snake repellent does not work on tree frogs, they come back after every storm. So anyone out there, there’s nothing you can do to stop these things. Nothing. Other than enjoy spending several days cleaning up their mess

    Longtime Lurker- Thanks so much!

I’ll echo what the op posted. first year ever with a pool and it was intimidating at first between this site and a good pool guy to steer me in the right direction it’s all good now.

    Frogs...too many frogs

We got over run by tree frogs a few times this year, i went to Lowes and armed myself to the teeth with snake away (spray and granules) sprayed everything down around the pool and did the perimeter around the fence with the granules and they haven’t been back, not sure if I got lucky or it...
