Help: Replace Light Assembly or just Bulb

That's exactly what I was thinking to get GFCI protection. My panel has all GE slim breakers and is full, so no way to get a GFCI breaker in there.

Help: Replace Light Assembly or just Bulb

Yeah it's a good call. I would - just don't have enough slots in my panel to move up to the wider sized GFCI breaker. I'll look and see if there's another way to protect the circuit

Help: Replace Light Assembly or just Bulb

We don't have a GFCI breaker, unfortunately. Just a normal breaker since it's an older house

Help: Replace Light Assembly or just Bulb

Hello folks, Quick question: when we bought our house, the pool light never worked, and we're just getting around to fixing it. When I pulled out the light assembly, it still floated to the top, so I figured it was totally sealed up. I pulled the gasket and lense off and here is the state (see...

Looking for a PB Recommendation - Ft. Worth - Please PM

Hello everyone! We are looking for builder recommendations in the Fort Worth, TX area. We're in Benbrook (SouthWest) and new to this area. We just came from Houston where we finished a very beautiful pool in 2018. Unfortunately, circumstances caused us to leave it. :( If anyone has any...

    Options Controlling Stenner with Automation

I'm not totally familiar with wiring, but I have done some stuff before. I think it makes sense - thank you for the help. One question that I didn't really ask before: will either of these methods allow me to set the run time of the Stenner through the eCommand? Right now, obviously, I can set...

    Options Controlling Stenner with Automation

Here you go, Jim. My Stenner is a 120V unit. Wondering if I can run the Stenner and lights at the same time, or perhaps kick the spa blower off the Aux and replace it with the Stenner. I will very rarely ever use the spa blower. Stenner is currently plugged into the junction box on lower right...

    Options Controlling Stenner with Automation

Hey all, We just finished our build and we are getting familiar with the setup and how the controller works, etc. We have a Hayward eCommand4 (w/ Aqua Connect) and the following: - 1 Pool+ 1 Spa LED light - variable speed pump - Single Speed Pump for water feature (Aux1) - 2 actuated...

    HELP: Pebble Sheen Start Up

Thanks for the input. I update my sig to reflect equipment. I wasn't as worried about the chlorine, but that's a good point. Should I be trying to keep the pH balanced as well? I just don't want to do anything detrimental to my pebble.

    HELP: Pebble Sheen Start Up

Hey all, We just had our pebble sheen applied on Thursday and Friday of this week and the hose went in to fill her up. Fill finished at about 2am on Saturday (this) morning, but PB is not coming out until Monday morning to start up the equipment. So, what should we be doing during that time? I...

Houston Pool Build-Would You Do Anything Different?

Update: We have HOA approval! Decided to use the same color travertine for decking and coping to get a more seamless look. Travertine will be the white-ish paver the left side of the photo. We have cable and electrical in the way of the current pool plans, so we will probably need to shorten...

Construction finally started in Jacksonville FL!

Sorry to see your issues, Paige. This reminds me of a contractor we had do cabinets for us. It was literally something every single day.

Tentative choices for coping (bottom), ledger stone (middle, darkest one), waterline tile, and decking (left side).

Houston Pool Build-Would You Do Anything Different?

Thank you all for the insightful input! Getting another pump for acid is a thought. How often are you needing to add acid in your pool, @back_yard_lap_pool? I never really considered having to add that much acid with a standard chlorine pool (SWG would definitely need one). Picked decking...

Houston Pool Build-Would You Do Anything Different?

Quick update: We're looking at a normal tablet chlorinator, but also a secondary system that uses a peristaltic chemical injection pump and a bleach tank. Anybody have opinions on this? I figure we can use the pucks until CYA gets to the high end, then switch over to bleach injection.

We decided to upgrade to the Hayward automation and go with the Tigershark robot. On a plumbing note, PB says plumbing is 2".

Houston Pool Build-Would You Do Anything Different?

Thanks for the input, again! The auto fill does seem like a good idea, especially considering how hot our summers get. We're pretty much set on upgrading to automation. We like the idea of controlling everything from the phone and remotely. We're also thinking that we should definitely have...

Houston Pool Build-Would You Do Anything Different?

Thanks for your input! I've done a lot of research on SWG vs. Puck Chlorinators and from what I can gather, there is a possibility that the salt content can damage components in the vicinity (including stone). Given that, I don't feel comfortable, at this point, going with a SWG. I am open to...

Houston Pool Build-Would You Do Anything Different?

Hi everyone! We've posted a few times and we're finally ready to start. We've settled on a PB that we've got a good feeling about but before we sign, we'd like to know from you guys if what we've got is what you'd do again if you were re-building. We've been looking at the "What Would You Do...

Please Help! Need Eyes on our Pool Bids!

Hi Everyone!! We've met with 2 PBs so far that seem to be somewhat near each other but we would really love more eyes on these bids. They seem high to us but our only real comparison was my parent's pool that was built in 2009 in Austin...so not a great one. Haha. We are building in Houston...
