New SWG install - Salt level Questions

So if I'm tracking.... I need reduce the runtime for my pump to get in the 3-5 ppm. Does that translate to a 50% reduction in time = 50% reduction in FC (I understand bathing load and sunlight use chlorine at varying rates)

New SWG install - Salt level Questions

Here is a screenshot from the calculator. When I initially added the salt there was a check system warning because the levels exceeded 4000 ppm. Once the salt was distributed it went back to normal. ========================================== Scott Pool ------------------------------------------...

New SWG install - Salt level Questions

Thanks for the replies. I always am able to count on this group for guidance. The salt was at 460 to 520 (according to the strip test) I did not have the k1766 at that time. I'm trying to avoid the problem of having to dump and replace water. I learned early on that "adding all of the...

New SWG install - Salt level Questions

I have a brand new SWG install. The K1766 test kit shows 2600, the Aquarite strips that Hayward sent with the salt system show 2580 and the salt system says 3000. I know there is a margin for error in all of them. I am struggling with adding more salt to get closer to 3200. My FC is at 6.5...

    Robot Cleaners - Dolphin S200/Dolphin Nautilus CC/etc

I have an s200. It is nice. The bottom of the basket opens so there is no digging out worms or debris if you have a water hose close. You could use a hair try or similar device if needed. It also comes with a normal filter that is good for daily use to catch leaves and most pin head size debris...

    New SWCG conversion

Thanks! I use the poolmath app and just realized that I needed to change my settings from Bleach to SWG to get the right levels Does it matter if the pump run time is split or during sunlight vs night? Should I just pick 14 hours of the day to run continuously?

    New SWCG conversion

I installed an Aqua Plus T-15 SWG yesterday. My salt level seems to have leveled off at 3000 ppm and other than getting my CYA level up from 30, my water is in range. Is there a preferred method to determine the % setting for the SWG? Should I determine the "turn over" time for my pool based...

    Pump Timer

So last year when my pool was installed we assumed that all the cool stuff was taken care of when we ordered the package. A key feature (besides a variable speed pump) was left out. We did not get a pump timer. I am looking to get a pump timer (Intermatic Etc..) Any suggestions? Pros - Cons...

Final reading for this post. FC - 8.0 CC - 0 to .5 (it never gets even close to the pink it did when it was 2+) PH - 7.5 TA - 100 CH - 50 CYA - 30 If you're converting, my best advice is follow the guide. DO NOT add CYA before you're finished with the conversion! Glad to be through this...

    Dolphin s200 and Pollen?

I use an s200 and it does very well with fine debris when using the fine pleated filters. I was using the medium filters when my concrete pool deck had the expansion joints cut in. The concrete dust went straight to the bottom. When I swapped to the fine filters it only took a couple of runs to...

OCLT results FC 14.5 CC .5 FC 14 CC .5 After reading the FC and adding the 5 drops of 003 for the CC, the water turns the slightest shade of pink. Not like when adding the 870 powder, but enough to see a difference when after 1 drop of 871.

    Converting after following terrible advice

I didn't add any chlorine last night. It's still coming down from when I set it at 30 to see how much biguanide was left in the pool. Just for reference. After getting my test kit I've used about 6.5 gallons of 10% bleach. I drained and replaced twice (around 3/4 of pool volume.

That is probably not the most accurate reading since the night reading was taken while I was still filling the pool. I added about an inch of water between readings. I plan to get a good oclt tonight. Thanks to everyone for the advise and help. I was on the ledge a couple of times.

Sand from deep clean. Not a lot of big clumping. Just a little clumping that is too heavy to be lifted out with the water. I had to feel around and pull those pieces out

The pool was installed late summer last year. The sand was brand new. The initial dose of Aquasilk was done followed by the peroxide maintenance. An additional maintenance dose of baguanide was done (less than 20 oz. I think) and then peroxide for the rest of the summer. The pool was closed and...
