Gave a shot at this... I don't have a spa or heater, so I might be off on some of the left side items. Suggest you open the first two on the right to allow skimmers to get water into the pump. Leave the main drain closed since you sealed those in the pool. Everything else in the picture...

Yep! I measured and cut the PVC to be just under the lid. This keeps the basket from floating, along with the added weight. Costs about $2 for both and took all of 15 minutes.

Considered buying the $35 version online, but figured some PVC and tie-straps would accomplish the same goal. It also keeps the baskets from floating...

I'd like to see that one running... it might spin the whole bottle around the surface instead of just the "pill". :) If it doesn't work, ebay it for $50 and use the funds on the speedstir. It's worth more than $45 in my opinion after using it for a year.

If you don't get a proper response from them, call Wet-Edge directly... they require all their installers to be certified in order to install their products. I bet you'll get results if they are aware the manufacturer is watching.

Definitely have the pool builder bring the plaster manager out to see it. A second acid wash "COULD" help resolve some of the issues you describe, but I'd be surprised if those color variations go away. Did you get a close look at it before the acid wash? Did the colors look splotchy at that...

Concur... those are deck jet "lids". If you pop that flat top off, there should be nozzles underneath that you can aim. If they didn't install the guts of the jets, then its just and empty tube with a plastic lid. :) This is the whole set of parts...
