if you keep the pump running 24/7 won't that stop it from freezing up?

i have been running my pump all day long all summer. I thought the pool store guy told me it was to run all day every day. I didn't know you could not run it for a few hours at a time. Is it bad to run it 24/7?

Accidentally added about 4 times the suggested amount of algecide to our pool and there's a white foamy sort of film on top of the water. What should i do? Is it ok to swim in with the film showing? I am trying to skim as much of the film as i can. The water is still sparking clear. 24 ft...
