New quartz finish this year, should I acid wash before closing

Ok, I just talked to PB and he said wait until we open it and decide then by how it looks. He said footprints would come out easily with acid wash, so maybe we will. Thanks. Again, I LOVE the luna quartz in Bermuda, just in case anyone is searching for info :) It's smooooooth and sparkly and...

New quartz finish this year, should I acid wash before closing

That's good to know it's not preventing some longer term problem. We do have footprints, does anyone know if it could get rid of them? My friend tried washing her blue plaster to get rid of a single footprint and has now drained and refilled her pool 5 times, seems ridiculous. I think some...

New quartz finish this year, should I acid wash before closing

Hi, I'm just bumping this up to try to get a response because I need to decide soon. Does anyone have thoughts on acid washing? Thanks

New quartz finish this year, should I acid wash before closing

Hi, I have a new Wet Edge luna quartz finish in Bermuda. I LOVE IT! However it's not perfect. I have some white streaking, and some areas where the aggregate is not exposed (mainly the walls) the steps look nearly perfect. I don't mind the streaking. It's beautiful in full sun, on cloudy days...

    New plaster numbers! Help! :)

Thank you rocket, what did you use instead of shock then? Did you use tablets or liquid chlorine? My PB said I can shock it... How do I do my signature? I can't figure that out either, lol, I'm a mess. Thanks!

    New plaster numbers! Help! :)

Unreal. Some were there before last night though. On the bright side if it's that, it can't get any worse... I brushed it twice too afterwards. Any tips to prevent it from happening again? Think it will ever go away?

    Just got test kit...feeling overwhelmed

Re: Just got test kit...feeling overwhelmed I don't really know the answer to this, but I found out I was swimming for years in a pool with CYA way above 100 with 2 dogs and we've been fine and healthy, haha.

    New plaster numbers! Help! :)

The pool company said my iron and copper are slightly high. Wet Edge is the company that makes the quartz. (like pebbletech or hydrazoo) The CYA test I did didn't even register, I guess because it's so low. And the pool company said to add it too. I did add tablets to the skimmers as well.

    New plaster numbers! Help! :)

It's 28000 gallons Ok, good to know! Is that Taylor test telling me free chlorine? The instructions aren't very clear. He just said watch the PH and that I'll need to add lots of acid. Should I be adding any more sequestering agent? He added a lot the first day. The pool store and the...

    New plaster numbers! Help! :)

I added shock last night! These numbers were before that. Ok will get CYA today! My instructions from wet edge say up TA first, then PH?

    New plaster numbers! Help! :)

Hi, It's my first week taking care of chemicals on my own. I am noticing some bright white spots in our new wet edge luna quartz. I sent a pic to the PB and am trying to stay calm, haha In the mean time I'll be adjusting our alk and then PH based on these numbers. Anything else? I have the...

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

Haha, that's funny, but I agree as my searches found a lot of issues I was having with no end posts, so I told myself I will update and post pics and clearly mark what my finishes are! Yes, the friend of a friend works for a pool company and lives 5 min away, she even took notes every day. I...

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

Hi, I just wanted to update everyone that helped me, I did get the water trucked in, it was worth it as it was HOT out. It was filled less than 15 hours before leaving for vacation, lol, timing was not good and I was stressed. However we found a friend of a friend to check on the pool and brush...

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

Oh good point about leaving the hose in. We are going to start filling it with the hose so we'll just leave it in there and turned on. I do have a webcam. We can set that up to point the pool.

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

Well it's a fortune but i'm getting the water trucked in Saturday... we leave for vacation on Sunday. I can't believe this timing. I'm so stressed over it I feel sick. Guess I just need to trust they will show up and brush it every day. I'm insanely thinking of staying home from an already paid...

    Nervous about switching to TFP

I feel over whelmed when I read about SWG too, haha. Plus I went 9k over my remodel estimate already (3k for full chip out, 3K for lights and new automation, 3k for upgraded tile and spa coping, yikes), soooo, I really don't want to spend another 3k :( But my pool is 30k gallons, hmm liquid...

    Nervous about switching to TFP

Thanks, I got the Taylor 2006 in the mail yesterday! I read the download, but I don't understand how I will know how much bleach to add? I have no idea how much to buy initially...1 bottle, or 10? haha I'm missing something.... Thanks

    Nervous about switching to TFP

Hi, My pool remodel will finally (2 months since chip out!) be finished this week with luna quartz. (The glass tile is in and looks amazing!) I want to switch to TFP because I had such high CYA I never rarely added chlorine last year...but didn't know that was the issue. And used phos free...

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

poolguyinCT, exactly!! I am not giving up my spot. With another 5 days of rain projected we're probably already pushed into the week OF our vacation, which would work! I can't take this spring, we better have a perfect summer :) Ok, I guess I need to find out where the water is from, although...

Moon dust anyone? (what wet edge calls abalone shells I believe)

We are doing sparkly glass tile, including strips on the steps. :)

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

We have a completely chipped out pool....for a month and a half! No tile, no finish, it is so frustrating. I know, it has me SO nervous that we won't be here. I don't want to say wait because our luck with weather around here lately then we'll be in July. And we have our entire family coming for...

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

oh yeah, I know it will cost about $800 to truck it in and $200-300 with hose, but it may be worth it to avoid spider cracks in the plaster and to be there when it's filled. I'm not concerned about the money as much as what is best for the pool finish. Thanks

New contract / New build - SE Pennsylvania, Gunite free form pool and spa

Hi, I got the S300i last year, it's decent, so much better than dealing with a pressure polaris!!! The polaris is the worst, so good choice there. Especially if you have dogs, forget it, they constantly poke holes in it and replacing the hose is ridiculous. The cold cracks them too, that product...

Pros and cons of trucking water versus hose fill

Thanks, I just read your thread, your pool is very pretty. I hope it's now holding up. I sure hope after 2 months of delays due to weather that we end up with a perfect product, ugh, nothing is ever easy. We're going with luna quartz, fingers crossed. I will definitely ask about the quality of...

New 600 SF in ground pool - SE PA (Valley Forge)

Congrats, just wanted to say.. I can relate to the rain. I'm also near Valley Forge, awaiting a remodel and for three weeks of rain our 2 labs stared at an empty pool, then a half full of rain water pool. Yesterday they literally tried to go in, AFTER we pumped out the rain water, ugh, my heart...
