    Stuck Return "Eyeball" Threading

Not exactly sure what to call it, but trying to remove the 'eyeballs' that direct the returns. The piece with threads that screw into the wall (and subsequently the collar screws onto) is stuck to the point that I can't get it to turn to remove it. Tried using pliars to remove it and only...

    Aiper Seagull Pro Review

Hey all... Below is an email that I just wrote to Aiper. I really wanted to like the Seagull PRO as it looked like it would do exactly what I wanted, and the CLEANING did work really well... The programming just isn't yet up to snuff in my opinion: I want to thank you for the incredible...

33,300 Gallon Pool -- Cleaner Recommendations -- Cordless or Super-Long Cord...

Yes, thank you. I decided to give the Aiper a try. There was a thing on FaceBook this morning that brought the final price down to $729 delivered. AND! I'm getting a FREE WATER BOTTLE! Woo-hoo! Chris

    Aiper Seagull Pro Review

Hey all! This has been a fantastic thread. I'm am debating between the Seagull Pro and the Polaris Freedom. The freedom has the extra bells and whistles with the wi-fi connectivity, that frankly I don't think I need and don't work when the unit is submerged anyway. It is also almost double...

33,300 Gallon Pool -- Cleaner Recommendations -- Cordless or Super-Long Cord...

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Yes, about the length of the cord... I do see that I could use a regular length cord. The problem that I have is that my pool runs "away" from my house... the short side is closest to the house, and there is no electric out there. So I would need to either...

33,300 Gallon Pool -- Cleaner Recommendations -- Cordless or Super-Long Cord...

After 5 years I think I'm ready to make the jump to a pool cleaner. With the SWG and this site, nearly everything else is completely hassle-free, with the exception of vacuuming, so let's go all the way. I'm pretty sure that I would either need a cordless version, or else one with at least a...

    Jandy Heater won't fire

It was a bug. Yep... a bug. One of those stink bugs we get in the NorthEast. Crawled up inside of the gas line between the valve and the jet. Apparently, when the gas came on, it blew it up and blocked the jet so that enough gas could get through that you could smell it, but not enough to...

Can I use manifold gauges, like you would use on an AC system? Chris

    Jandy Heater won't fire

Maybe... any idea what I should be getting for voltage? I'm getting a good strong glow, and really it shouldn't take much of anything to ignite natural gas... I'm getting the solenoid click at the gas valve. I pulled apart the gas line before it goes into the heater and it had flow, though I...

    Jandy Heater won't fire

I would think so as well. That's what has me stumped. Normally you get that great big 'whumph' when it lights off. But nothing. I can hear the gas solenoid clicking, the igniter heats up, you smell gas.. but it just doesn't light. That's why the igniter made sense to replace, even though...

    Jandy Heater won't fire

Ah, no I see it now... the blink that I am getting is on the 01 led. Looks like 02 and 03 comes on when it tries to light... 01 blinks all the time. The actual diagnostic indicator only flashes three times once it has gone to lockout. I'm getting power to the pressure switch, I'm getting...

    Jandy Heater won't fire

All I see is "Air Flow Fault" like in your picture. If the pressure switch is activating... what else could cause an air flow fault? Chris

    Jandy Heater won't fire

It just sits there... (sorry) I'm getting solid lights on 02 and 03. 01 is a single blink. 02 and 03 go out when heat is turned 'off' on the console, but the 01 blinks continuously whether the heat is on or not. The pressure switch is working correctly (I'm getting continuity when the switch...

    Jandy Heater won't fire

Okay, I'll try the ignitor. It wasn't red the entire length, so I guess there is a good chance that is what it is. I'll post my results. Thanks for the help!

    Jandy Heater won't fire

That was my first thought. I pulled the igniter and it lights up and gets bright red. I don't think it is the flame sensor, because I'm not getting the 'whoomp' that it makes when it lights... I'm thinking it has to be a gas pressure problem, but I think testing it is over my head unless it...

    Jandy Heater won't fire

Went to test the heater today in preparation for next weekend. Turn it on, fan starts up, element heats up, you get a whiff of natural gas... then nothing. Tried troubleshooting per the install guide, Possible causes are: Gas Valve not on -- nope, getting a gas smell Air In gas line -- again...

    Where to find Muriatic Acid?

I can't seem to find any 'real' muriatic acid. Lowes now only carries the 'green' stuff. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

31v 2.9a on Power Level 2.. I'm guessing its time for a new cell?

All summer I have been kind of struggling with my chlorine output. It will maintain, but my percentage is at like 65% for 80 degree water. I just recently went to level 2 to see if it will help. I have started getting the check/clean cell and low amps-cell? warnings. The pool numbers are...

    Is my SWG dying?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm still kind of concerned that it isn't keeping a high enough output, but as I said, maybe if I knock the edge off the little bit of gunk that I might have going on that it'll be able to bring it back down to a more typical setting. Thanks. Chris

    Is my SWG dying?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm wondering if maybe I'm right on the edge and you are right that it burning off the same amount of chlorine I'm producing. The CC is reading 0 though, so I just don't know. I'm going to bump it up to 75% and try the liquid chlorine idea and see what I end up...

    Is my SWG dying?

Checked the salt... Turned red right at 15 drops, so the salt indicator is dead-on. Here is my amp/volt readout... I am getting a CC of zero, so maybe I am just right on that edge of using exactly as much chlorine as I'm making each day. I bumped up to 75%, and I'm going to hit it with liquid...

    Is my SWG dying?

Thanks for the info. Yes, the controller gives me the reading. My system salt reporting has always been really good, so I haven't bothered to check it. Guess I will give that a try and see what I get. I'll see if I can find the voltage/amperage readings. Thanks! Chris

    Is my SWG dying?

I have a variable speed pump, so it runs 24/7. I did a good SLAM to open, and like I said, the pool is beautiful to look at, but I am getting a lot of 'dirt' on the bottom of the pool, so maybe I'll have to look at that. Thanks! Chris

    Is my SWG dying?

Have had the pool open for several weeks, and the water is absolutely beautiful. Clear and sparkling. My test numbers: Water Temp: 75 Salt 2900 (a little low, but should not be significant) CYA 60 pH 7.4 TA 50 FC 3 Previous years my SWG would easily keep me in the 4-6 FC range at 30%. This...
