Opened fiberglass pool and have some brown stains

Texas Splash, thanks for the reply! The stains are fairly subtle, and it’s hard to show them well. Anyway, I will keep the FC up a bit and keep scrubbing. Otherwise, the pool is looking great this spring!

Opened fiberglass pool and have some brown stains

We opened up our pool last week and there were a lot of leaves in the pool from over the winter. Our pool cover always has a bit of a gap at the end and so it seems like leaves can get in easily. Anyway, I vacuumed out the leaves and we did an initial test. FC: 6 CC: 0 Calc Hardness: 275...

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Yeah, I forget how it worked out. I think I asked him to buy a larger cell, but he had already gone and got the smaller one because it worked “fine in the last pool he built.” Our pool builder was just starting out. Took a bit of a risk. Price was right. I’m pleased with how it turned out in...

Thanks! We just opened it today. Chemicals are looking good and we will probably be able to get the heat pump running with this warmer weather! Swim time this weekend. :)

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Thanks Maddie, We are really happy how it is turning out. Tomorrow, they are going to install the autocover and probably do the winter shut down. It'll be nice to turn the pump off and save some money on electricity! I need to figure out some program settings on the pump for next season to...

    Dolphin T series

Interesting. I thought the active series and S series were identical. Based upon the product specs it seems like the S300i is the same as the Active 30i. Anyway, I appreciate the input. I know this question comes up every year...

    Dolphin T series

I saw Dolphin has a new T series line on its website. It looks similar to the S series and Active series. I understand that the S series and Active series are identical, but does anyone know anything new about this T series? Thanks!

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Some more work got done. Expansion joints were cut into the concrete. Work is underway for the pavilion base. Sonotubes have been placed for the posts. Inspection should happen on Monday. He'll probably pour Tuesday or Wednesday next week. In the picture above, the area between...

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Great tip! I think the time and hassle saved with using the autocover as our wintercover will be worth it. Hopefully, we will get the autocover installed this week!

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Yeah, He'll be cutting the expansion joints once it sets up. There are a couple spots where he wasn't as pleased with the finish of the concrete, but it looks fine by me. I like the broom finish. Deck chairs don't wobble like they would on stamped concrete. He'll be getting the concrete...

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

We got the forms installed and the area back filled. Easytouch and screen logic are working. I did plug the ethernet cable from my screenlogic straight into my network switch and it is working just fine. The pool builder is going to get his electrical inspection on Monday and then has...

Temperature on Ultratemp heat pump with Easytouch

Thanks for the info, Jim. I had downloaded the manual last night and have been reading it over a bit. It's kind of weird to want to go back and check things over, but as they were wiring it, I hadn't gotten time to really get into reading the instructions. I'm confident it will get running...

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

bmoreswim, Thanks for the advice. Two of the people in our neighborhood are using the autocover as their winter cover. They seem to be doing okay, but albeit with only 1 and 2 winters behind them. We don't get a ton of snow in our part of Ohio and so I hope the cover won't be weighted down...

Temperature on Ultratemp heat pump with Easytouch

I'm not 100% sure how he has it wired. I am have a feeling that it is going from the 1/4" spade terminals to the com port! I will have to look into it a bit more and talk to the pool builder. Sounds like I need to confirm that my Easytouch software version 1.11 or higher to use the RS 485...

Temperature on Ultratemp heat pump with Easytouch

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply. I was playing with it a bit today. First, I don't have the screenlogic set up yet. We're still in the build process. He'll be installing it later on. I found that the easytouch isn't controlling the heat pump. I adjusted the easytouch to set the pool temp...

Temperature on Ultratemp heat pump with Easytouch

I notice when I change the temperature setting on the Easytouch, the Ultratemp heat pump doesn't automatically show the change. The heat pump setting displayed won't change unless I manually do so using the arrows on the Ultratemp. Is this normal? Or so I have a wiring issue? Thanks!

Our plan is to just use the auto cover as the winter cover. I'll see how it goes. Hopefully, it doesn't lead it to extra wear and tear.

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Coping is up and he is starting to put the concrete forms around the pool. I really like the color of the pool and how everything is coming together. It's been a bit cold and rainy this past week, but I'm hoping that the heat pump will get the temperature up a bit. I'm going to test the water...

Screenlogic protocol adapter direct to Easytouch load center

Thanks for the advice. I can plug it directly into the router if necessary. The manual says you get 1500 feet with the 22 AWG wire!

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

Didn't take any pictures today, but we hit a bit of a snag over the last week. Weather wasn't cooperative, and then we started to notice some air bubbles coming in the return lines. Things got a bit crazy then. It was difficult to figure out where the leak was coming in. The suction side...

Screenlogic protocol adapter direct to Easytouch load center

Thanks Jim! Appreciate your advice. My pool pad is away from the house and so we have some wiring distance.

Screenlogic protocol adapter direct to Easytouch load center

We are getting our electrical work done now, and I had a question regarding the Screenlogic protocol adapter. Can I just wire it direct from the protocol adapter to the Easytouch load center? My network switch and router are in the basement and that's where I planned on having the screenlogic...

Getting some more work done. Time for wiring! The pavilion came in and that's been delivered. We'll keep it under "wraps" for now!

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

I see what you're saying. No, the pool is perfectly level. The piping does taper down. Also, the grade of the earth slopes away from the house. So, the pool is level, but nothing else around it is level. We are doing the standard coping with the bullnose rather than the cantilever. I would...

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

We got some more plumbing done today. Also, the pool is getting filled up. Walls were bowing in a bit, and so the PB had to cut back on backfilling a bit. He added some more water and now the walls are pretty much in line. He will continue backfilling as the water goes in. I threw the...

    Fiberglass pool build in Ohio

We got some more work done since my last post. Pool has been plumbed. Lights are installed. We got some trenching done for the plumbing lines and the pool equipment pad has been poured. It's really coming together!
