Hi, Per my pool size and pump does anyone know what size Stenner Pump is best for my setup? My setup is in my signature. Thanks!

FC Drop - Is this normal?

This is interesting. Is there any documentation or something that explains why chlorine breaks down faster when the concentration is higher? I'm mainly curious of the scientific reasoning.

FC Drop - Is this normal?

Yes, I actually wait longer. Usually an hour. But like I said. From 33 in the morning 8am to 10pm it shot down to 20ppm FC. Its now 10:40am and the FC is 19ppm. Sun is not out though. I have brand new DPD powder with a best date of 5/2021.

FC Drop - Is this normal?

Just an update. I just checked FC and it is at 19. So, from 10pm last night until now which is 10:32am, I lost 1ppm. It's also very cloudy, not any sun, and heavy rain.

FC Drop - Is this normal?

I have been a TFP supporter and following the great advice on this forum. I am back for another scenario. This pool season has been great. Only adding in liquid 12.5% bleach daily. Typically my CYA was 45 and my daily chlorine dump was around 32oz to 64oz depending on how much sun was out...

Circulation (15x30) Above Ground - Need Advice

The skimmer does collect debris. My old pool only had 1 return in the same exact spot. Wind played zero role in how fast the water was moving. Same with this current pool I have. Different location yes but on a zero wind day you can most certainly tell the difference.

Circulation (15x30) Above Ground - Need Advice

I only have 1 return and it is at the end of the oval about 3 feet to the right of the center of the end. Hope that helps understand. I've had kids pool toys in there and while they move a little its nothing like my older pool where it was literally a whirlpool in some respects. What is the...

Circulation (15x30) Above Ground - Need Advice

Hi TFP folks! My pool is 15x30 (per my signature) and for the last couple of years (prior to finding this site) I have been wondering and researching on the best circulation for my pool water. My pump is a 1.5 HP Haywood and is the same pump as I used to have before when I had the same type of...

    Water cloudy under cover

I just sent you a direct message as I am not sure about posting links to other online stores in the forum.

    Water cloudy under cover

I would agree there. As long as the local business is honest, I'll support.

    Water cloudy under cover

$2.50 a gallon for 12% near me and I got two 5 gal containers. Personally I'd rather get direct from the pool store because it is a local business and its 2% more. I like to support local businesses first.

    Water cloudy under cover

Update... I was wrong. Pool store near me is accepting online orders and curbside for liquid chlorine!! YES! So its 12%. I cancelled the HD order. I pick up the chlorine tomorrow and I guess I will decide to either open now or wait a bit.

    Water cloudy under cover

I just picked up 5 (3pack 10% HDX) at HD for 8 bucks a pop. Not bad. 128oz each. So, thats 1920oz of 10% to at least get me started. Opening pool now would just be way too early. I'd be running the pump a full two weeks or more and that water is not going to be any where near close to...

    Water cloudy under cover

Few things come to mind... right now no pool stores are open. Getting liquid chlorine is like finding gold. So I may be regulated to buying 10% HDX from HD. I was planning on opening possibly by 5/14. Thats 15 days away. But it is going to be 74 on Sunday. I venture to guess that water...

    Water cloudy under cover

So its a really windy day and a small section of my pool cover came off today and it gave me the chance to check the water quality. I closed the pool in perfect condition. Water looks cloudy and possibly starting to turn green. With nearly a month or so to go before opening, what can I do to...

Going to convert to SWG - Need some assistance.

Thanks! I spoke to a few people and mentioned the thought of going SWG and their first reaction is "for an above ground pool it's going to damage your pool with all the metal on it". And I immediately start doubting things. Is this truly the case? Lots of reading on here I've not once read...

Going to convert to SWG - Need some assistance.

My signature has my inventory of equipment. I believe all I would need to do is get the SWG. But not 100% sure. Would need someone who has had experience with what I have or near it to chime in. The controller/timer I use is a zwave 40amp switch. It ties into my smart home system and I can...

WOW What a learning experience... so far.

Good to know. Is there a general rule of thumb or calculation that is done to give an expectation of how much chlorine is lost at a particular level?

Township workers. Lawn cut and brush cut. But like I said... I have to do a lot of it. Last year I made my kids collect the water bottles and trash that accumulated from wind in winter to be environment friendly :).

It's a township water runoff pond. All the properties have slopes which is great, no basement flooding! Might as well be mine though... I'm the only one who takes care of it. (Except this year as I didn't have time.) As much as I can :). From Easter until the first freeze there is a...

It definitely doesn't. Soon as stores open, going on a Poly hunt! I guess I add this while filter is running for a couple of hours then close? Dosing instructions on bottle will probably say so but figured I'd ask...
