    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

I ordered mine in March and website said in process on the day it arrived. It was under 2 weeks. I can imagine tariffs will be wrecking this for awhile. Many in the group have experienced good communication with them so keep the faith that they will treat you well.

    8streme black pearl robot

Aiper threw so much discount toward me I stuck with the S1 and an attractive price. Plan to keep an eye on 8streme, hoping to bump into users.

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

I do feel that the S1/N1 might be improved from water intrusion. In my case I had 2 Seagulls where the charge post corrosion caused failure. I just today received the N1 and the cap on the charge entry seals better than my seagulls ever did. The model is more mature than my seagulls. And...

    2025 - Cordless Robot Recommendations

I think this one might work for you Black Pearl 8Streme Unfortunately I have not found anyone who has owned it. The battery floats with the unit and can be detached to charge elsewhere. I personally stuck with Aiper cause I got a great price but heavily considered this one.

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

@suzook Going thru the website you can get new sometimes for $519, then wait for discount codes to populate. This gives you a 2 year warranty. Probably best to have a longer warranty versus saving $20.

8 years is an incredible record! No wonder you remain corded! What are your costs to maintain to date?

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

I researched, kicked tires, considered going corded and even floating corded…pulled plug this weekend on the S1. (Actually the N1 because extra rollers seem more useful than goggles). I lost 2 seagulls (1in warranty) to corrosion on the charge posts. Both units totally worked but became...

    8streme black pearl robot

I have wanted to remain with a cordless robot mostly because I rely on my solar surface skimmer and my old Polaris 280 didn’t work well with it. But the expense of really great cordless cleaners is more than I want to spend. I am considering the black pearl even though it has a floating...

    Aiper Scuba S1 Review

I was looking at the Scuba S1 and the standard warranty is 2 years so you are adding a year for $60. I think the N1 is a S1 repackaged for retail, not sure. Given water intrusion in recharge port I would think an extra year is worth it. Depends on where exactly you get the warranty service...

Keep blowing pump motors pool guy says call electrician

I doubt he realizes how detailed this gets and has been lucky that the pumps he replaces hold up just long enough that it seems he is doing it right. I think this one would run for awhile if I left it at 8.6 amps. I’m thinking of purchasing the right diffuser and seeing what happens. I did...

Keep blowing pump motors pool guy says call electrician

Yes I felt that the original refurb was shot due to running for days at 12.5 Amps so requested he start over with all different parts so it’s a new to me front end and motor. I have requested the diffuser part number bet that too is aftermarket.

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

This stuck for me. I wish the intelliflo tech hadn’t jaded me to 5 year threshold and I doubt he was exaggerating. Most of the repair people work for pool companies that do not balance their pools the way that we do, so maybe their chemicals ruin pumps. I’m influenced to return the stuff to...

Keep blowing pump motors pool guy says call electrician

Yes that IS confusing. I had the “rebuild” guy bring me all new parts AND move us to factory model impeller. Below is the pump body and the motor that now allegedly has the factory impeller 128 ( he installed without letting me know). Do I now have “other” mismatches that could cause the 8.6...

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

So the Inyo pump is definitely cheaper, does that make this selection a 5 year time frame? If so 3.0 versus 1.5 really not gaining anything. From talking to pool service techs around here they estimate VS pump 5 year life. These are intelli Flo etc. I felt lucky to get more than 4 out of the...

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

No I was comparing 1.5 vs to 3.0 variable speed the longevity is the issue 10 years no repairs versus 5 on smaller works otherwise smaller and replace every 5 years

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

If I can get 10 years out of a larger pump than smaller I am game. For my experience I have had the odd time away when I probably would not think I need 24/7 and that factor gave me peace of mind. Do you run your pump full time year round? What maintenance have you done? THANKS for your...

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

Thanks I have indeed reviewed these articles. Here is my question if I was satisfied with the performance of the waterway Defender 1.4 HP, why wouldn’t the 1.5 Inyo solution work? What is preferable about the 3.0? I hear it “moves more water” why is that the goal. My pool was clear and with...

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

To be clear, the goals I have for my pump are:: temperature measured freeze protection start up, sufficient filtration to keep a clear pool and chlorinate thru salt cell, ability to use booster pump and 280 cleaner on occasion, economical cost to repair recognizing that most pumps fail in under...

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

Not what I WANT. I insist upon measured kick on below 40 degrees! If you spend $1000 xtra on pump a to save $25 a month in electricity and pump burns up in 4/5 years you saved zip. The focus here defies economics!

Replacement pump with timer including freeze control OR using Intermatic timer version?

I want the ability to have freeze protection this list ignores that requirement
