I have one question that hindered me when I was doing my first slam. Are you taking pool math FC based off the chlorine you add or waiting 30ish minutes after last addition of the night to test again?

I have vacuumed 4 times. 2x Saturday and 2x Sunday. It is getting better but I go through water like crazy. First picture is algae waste right where my pool drops off to the deep end. The 2nd is where you can barely see the floor drain.

When I slammed I maintained 28-30 ppm of FC. The theoretical fc vs actual makes sense. I will retest that tonight.

I check mine every day around 9pm local. Since I got the water balanced it has been fairly predictable on chlorine consumption based on usage. So I think if the morning works for you if you have the correct range of cya then no worries. But I would aim for the higher end of your optimal chlorine...
