New Build - Dropping the suction cleaner

I appreciate the feedback. I was thinking along the same lines.

New Build - Dropping the suction cleaner

I purchased the cleaner in Nov 2016 when I bought all the other equipment for my pool build. Zodiac is stating they may be able to replace my MX8 Elite with a Polaris 360. I didn't look in to pressure side cleaners at all, however it looks like it wouldn't get clogged. It kind of has a sweeper...

New Build - Dropping the suction cleaner

I appreciate the feedback but I don't know if I want to try out another suction cleaner. I want to start a bonfire with mine right now. If I can find a good robot (still haven't decided and still researching), I'm just going keep my elite in storage if the robot breaks down. I don't have to have...

New Build - Dropping the suction cleaner

Unfortunately I've tried all of that. I've spent hours with different valve configurations and power settings. I cannot turn the valve all the way to suction or it will suck in air or it doesn't suck enough water, either way the pump will go dry. I've got it to a point will it will climb up the...

Here are some additional pics I took today to show the color difference. I was gone most of the afternoon but really I don't start to get shade in my back yard till after 2, so it's the same as above. I still thin the pics at a bit darker, but very close. 4PM 5:30 6PM - at this point...

New Build - Dropping the suction cleaner

I've read the aquabot turbo t will clean shelves and steps, however there aren't great reviews on amazon. Appreciate the feedback. Close to me I only have Leslie's pool supplies, so I can ask them and see what they say. If not I'll search around for some additional places. I do have all my...

The Marbella hasn't been hot at all. It got up to 106 so far and it was warm to the touch, not even close to hot. I have silver travertine tile around the waterfall and backing for the seating at the fireplace and it's significantly hotter than the Marbella. I'm not sure if pavers are the same...

So after a long process of an owner build, I figured I'd close this thread out with some simi-final pictures. The turf was still being put down, still have to align the lights, have to program the actuators, put in the grill area, etc... Overall shows the final project. I was planning on...

New Build - Dropping the suction cleaner

This is again another post about what cleaner people wouldsuggest. I’ve read so many yet I’m still not solid on a choice. The main reasonI’m very hesitant to pull the trigger is I did a bunch of research on a suctioncleaner and it turned out to be a piece of shih tzu. I got an MX8 Elite and it...

The bolts are about 4-5 inches on the jig I have. I set it at that depth on purpose. I appreciate the feed back but I'm capable of making measurements which will fit the base I have + the pavers + the mud while leveling it with the coping. There is more than enough room left over for me to set...

I appreciate the feedback. Yes, they are out of the concrete enough. They are 2 1/4" out of the concrete which gives me room for the 1" pavers and some adjustment room. It was the jig that came with the diving board. The windows are 8' 6" from the water's edge. Pictures can be deceiving. :)

Shotcrete was put in about two weeks ago. I'm still trying to find a good deck/coping, tile, and pebblesheen company. Electric will be completed on 23rd of Jan. Enjoy the pictures. :)

I chose it just based off research I did about quality and talking to pool builders and plumbers. There were a few which suggested Hayward but most said Pentair.

It's like deck jets but the spray out water in to the air so it helps cool the water down. Here is a link, but I think the one in the picture is visually unappealing and sticks out too far. The idea of it however seems to be a pretty good idea, especially here in AZ. How to Cool Your Pool in the...

Hi Kim, It really looks worse than it is in the picture. :) I was concerned when I first saw it, but it's easy enough to get to and to remove and replace the top. I would have preferred it was more inline, but it works how it is. Thank you for the suggestions! I do have a question on...

Ah! Sorry, that was my house in Colorado Springs where I finished the basement. :) Thanks! It's an interesting experience for sure. I was intimidated at first, but it's coming along nicely. Some minor bumps with items I needed which I didn't order, moving around some of the placement of items...

It is tight, but I did validate I was able to reach it and get to it. Not the easiest set up but should only have to do it quarterly to every 6 months (hopefully). :)

I've been away for a bit, but I've gotten a few more things done. Plumbing and steel are both completed, electric is being completed on Thursday, and my first inspection will be done on Friday! Surely but slowly moving along. :)

It actually did rain. Ha! Oh well it's all dried up now. i was waiting for the pool equipment to arrive, which it finally did today. They also started the gas line install today. So gas will finish tomorrow and plumbing will start tomorrow. Hopefully steel on Saturday! - - - Updated - - -...

Forms are up and excavation complete. It wasn't the cleanest job due to the hard dig, but it's done. Now on to the next phase!

Here are a couple of updated pics. :) The deep end is completed. The bigger excavator is sitting where the Baja shelf will be. Digging should be completed Friday with all forms in place. I'll add some additional pictures after they've completed. Next plumbing and steel. I'm waiting for...

No, I don't have a basement. Not sure where you saw that? Thanks for the reply. Yes, I meant a heat pump. The gas to heat up the water and a heat pump to keep the temp. Someone mentioned it to me but sounds like a pita. I plan on having mine heated all winter so I can use it year round.

Thanks! With little kids in the house I didn't want to mess around with DE. I may upgrade in the future but I'll be happy enough with cartridge since I don't know any better. :) I stuck with mostly Pentair for the 3 year warranty. I know there are better out there but didn't want to mix match if...

Thanks for the information. I started off emailing excavators and searched the internet for others. They were all willing to provide referrals. The excavators either had a layout person or did the layout themselves. They started excavating on Friday, however unfortunately it's going to be a hard...

Hello all, First time pool owner and first time going through an owner build. So I feel like I'm already in over my head. I'm doing an in ground build - 20'x40' with a 12'x14' baja area. I've attached the project sheet I submitted for my permit. I’ve cleared the land already (attached some...
