My daughter boought a house with IG pool that needs a new Polaris pump. I have a spare 1 hp circ pump in my shop. Can this pump be used for the Polaris 380? Has anyone done this for an alternate to the PB4-60 pump? I would just plug the spare I have into a 110 outlet and reduce piping down to 3/4"?

I have a Polaris 380 and BP4-60 pump. The pump motor has gone bad. Smoking and bearings are gone. I do have a spare 1hp circulating pump. Has anyone used a circ pump to run the Polaris 380. Did it or can it harm the 380? Do you guys think this will work instead of forking out 200 plus dollars on...
