New Jacuzzi Brand Hot Tub Cover - Sunbrella material?

I got is last week - just got it installed and it fits and looks nice! They only had brown - which actually works in our color scheme. Originally had grey vinyl. Seems really nice. It is light. It is called Weathershield. We will see - I will post pics in a couple of days. Thank you all...

New Jacuzzi Brand Hot Tub Cover - Sunbrella material?

@santacruzpool I‘m unsure if the exact name of material - he explained it was like the Sunbrella material. Everything you said is what he said. can you still use a cover lifter on it? I have a center lift that is hydraulic and holds it up behind the tub.

New Jacuzzi Brand Hot Tub Cover - Sunbrella material?

Question - I’m have a circ pump replace in my 2012 Jacuzzi J 345. I asked them if the had any Jacuzzi covers for my J 345 and they said yes - it’s not the vinyl its the new sunbrella type material and the last couple of years Jacuzzi has been using this material and it’s a better cover. Purchase of a new spa hot tub

Warranty is one thing. Getting the service department out is another thing. Those two trump any price savings you are looking to get. Find a GREAT service center and an okay sales person and you will be more content. If the stars align - you'll get both... but if you ever need service, even...

Question about water odor... and numbers!

I flush and fill my tub twice a year (spring and late fall). I do an Ahh-Some purge overnight, dump it, refill it, add about 10-12 oz bleach, cycle once, dump it and fill it again.

    Water balance question...

Good day all! Question - because I think I may have been doing this incorrectly all these years... is the water balancing. I always used Nitro's water balancing write up. I also use the bleach / dichlor method. So to my question... if you read the write up on how to balance the water, you...

    Ahhsome

I let mine sit overnight - running it 3-4 cycles before letting it sit overnight and wiping the sides down during the 3-4 cycles. I also use an aquarium fish net to scoop out gunk in the foam and floating on the water. A long overnight soak with Ahhsome results in a very clean...

Hot Tub balance question - Jacuzzi J345

Question... I’ve been using the bleach dichlor method for the last 5 years - entire life of the tub. I read nitro’s water balance many times and think I’ve been doing it right... or at least almost right. Jacuzzi J345 340 gallons I take my initial readings and plug them into the pool...

Problems after Refilling Hot Tub / Hot Weather

I agree on the Ahhsome - read my trials and tribulations here. I do a complete purge/refill/20ppm bleach/empty/refill - and my water sparkles clear every time. When I do purge it now, the water doesn't look like it needs to be purged - I still do it after the cold snap in early spring and as...

Drain and Refill - Water turned yellow - Can't figure out why?

I had the same experience as you, even the filters getting discolored - although I was not switching from Bromine. Hot Tub Cleaning help

I have been doing this since last September with a fresh flush and fill last November and this past May. I did not see a build up bubbles - even at the end of the long winter until I could flush and fill. In all honesty, the water stayed much more stable and clear. Ahh some has a sister product...

    Help...need some advise

Not sure that is a completely true statement - I see a lot of stand alone spa users on here that I have interacted with. The moderator (tim5055) right above your post has a stand alone spa. I also found I get a better response here than at Pool and Spa Forum. That use to be active, but seems...

    Hot Tub Cleaning help

Basically what Gerry told me was that mixing 2oz of Ahh-Some gel in a gallon of water creates a diluted version of Ahh-Some. By adding about 2oz (depending on size of tub - you want the bubbles to dissipate after about 20 seconds of turning off your jets). I have a 340 gallon tub and use 2oz...

CH question - too low? Plus numbers check.

Doesn't keeping you CSI slightly negative assist in keeping the buildup in your pumps and heaters to a minimum?

CH question - too low? Plus numbers check.

So I checked by PH and FC the day after and my results were: PH = 7.8 FC = 2.0 (number may be a little off - I added 2oz of Ahhsome Maintenance Dose Solution) I can honestly say after all the trouble I had purging my tub last Labor Day, and the using the Ahhsome maintenance dose once every...

CH question - too low? Plus numbers check.

Thanks - it's an acrylic tub (Jacuzzi J345) wasnt sure if if I need to up the CH or not. No foam. Did the Ahhsome purge again and flush and fill and flush and fill again then balance. We we seem stable now - we'll check again tomorrow after it settles in. Thanks - Scott

CH question - too low? Plus numbers check.

I filled my tub with half soft water and half city water that is really hard. My beginning numbers look like this: FC 3.0 TA 200 CH 100 PH 7.6 CYA 5.4 by calculation Is my CH too low? My target TA is 65 and by the time I add the 50 ppm of Borates and my CYA gets up 30 by CSI number is: 7.6...

    Ahh-some question?

Stick with it until you at least get down to an extreme minimal amount of random brown discharge or faint line. I went through 10 flushes - and it paid off. I ended up using 2oz of ahh-some in 128oz of water as a maintenance solution when I was struggling. I have a Jacuzzi J-340 tub. My...

    Spa shell color

Something to think about is lighting. We liked a darker shell color but ended up with Jacuzzi's white/gray /silver marble look as it reflected the light better than the darker color shells. I would think black would absorb the light. Just my two cents.

    Numbers review please...

Ok - so my final numbers are as follows: i stepped it down to first a TA of 60 for a few days and let the numbers settle. Then yesterday I dialed a little more and here's my final result: TA 50-55 PH 7.6 CH 190 FC 5 CYA 14.4 calculate - shooting for 35 Borates 50 Temp 100 This would put my...

    Newbie with Questions

I agree with JoyFul Noise and bikeguy - get some Ahh-Some and do purge. When you have Biofilm - you can sanitize all you want and shock and you won't alleviate your issue. What Ahh-Some is, is a surfactant cleaner. It breaks down the "skin" of the biofilm so when the shock / cholorine mixes...

    Numbers review please...

    A TA of 50 would put me at -.28 @ 7.6 and -.15 @ 7.8. I know we use 50 as a guideline but is -.28 too low?

    Newbie with Questions

If you shock your tub - it would be 24ppm you would need to add. CYA of 60 x .4. You can use 8.5% bleach also. If it's biofilm though - you may need to do an ahh-some purge or two or three depending on what you see.

    Numbers review please...

Okay - so completely flushed tub with Ahh-Some many times (read other threads I have posted) and I balanced the water. my numbers are: FC 5 PH 7.8 TA 80 CH 190 CYA 8.5 calculated target will be 35 Borates 50 (GentleSpa) My PH was right at 7.4-7.6 until I added the Gentle Spa and it spiked to...
