If the pool has low (or no ) salt, then the SWG won't produce chlorine. You should be able to turn the breaker off for the SWG until the salt has been added.

Technically, the pump is only running 8 hours to make that 3ppm. If you look back up, your cell can make 9.8 ppm in your pool. If you ratio that to 25k gallons, you get 4.3 ppm. In theory that should be able to replace what the sun burns off, but you need to operate the pump and cell 24/7 @ 100%.

The T-9 cell can produce 0.9 lbs of chlorine per day at 100% for 24 hours. You are running 90% for 8 hours. 0.9 lbs in your pool is 9.8 ppm 9.8x 0.90/ 24x 8 = 2.94. so the way your cell is set, it is making 3ppm per day. A typical pool uses 2-4 ppm per day to the sun. So basically your SWG...

The Stenner pumps can handle about a 25 ft vertical lift (based on water) on the suction side. Liquid chlorine solution should be similar. Definitely capable of 6 ft lift.

I believe this Hayward Super II pump is a single speed pump. You should get a 2-speed pump at a minimum or a variable speed pump. They will pay for themselves with energy/ electricity savings.

Liquid chlorine is best, it won't add CYA or anything else your pool doesn't need.

It sounds like there is an issue with the SWG or the controller. I’m not a SWG expert, so I’ve reached the extent I can help here. I’d reach out to the mfg and see if they can replace under warranty.

What were the results of the salt test and who / how was the test done? Going by the cell isn't accurate enough. There have been instances where someone has added salt because the cell said "low salt," but when the salt was tested, it was really high. Low salt can mean the cell is faulty...

Hello and Welcome to TFP! Did you drain and refill the water since March? How are you testing the water? What is the water temperature?

While not ideal, this type of leveling is sometimes done on an Intex pool intended for a short life. I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the legs that settled will still move. As you have rain and splash out, the sand will tend to erode and let the legs sink down. Keep an eye on it.

If you have access to clean, metal free water then I'd suggest the drain and refill as well. Save yourself the aggravation of using pumps that are notoriously undersized. Exchange the water, then do the and brush the sides often.

Its more annoying draining weekly and it gets less and less effective as the salt level drops. Just bite the bullet and drain down enough to get where you want to be, refill and then rebalance and get CYA back up.

You can order refills for the test kit at tftestkits.net. For the CYA, you can put granular CYA in a sock and hang it in front of the return. Since this is a new fill, you are starting out with zero CYA and need to add as much as you want. It is predictable on a new fill as long as you are...
