Oh! Haha! Okay, thank you. I did a backwash in the meantime. The water was green, and didn't take long until it went clear. I will do another full test this morning and see how things are. The green is slowly going away.

Well, that seems simple enough (the deep clean). I will go do that first, then look into the DE option next. How do I make sure that the filter is isolated from the pool plumbing? Where do I find the DE?

No, I have never opened the filter. I only just learned how to switch it to waste to help drain it this last week! I will go research and see what I can find out.

Okay, this mornings test for OCLT, FC: 13.5 CC: .5, I'm sure it would have been less had I used the larger water sample. It just barely had a pink tinge to it. The water is a cloudy green when the pump is on. When off, it all settles to the bottom and the water is clear. So I'm confused. If...

I added one more gallon of bleach before the sun went down. I tested around 10pm, FC is up to 13.5, CC is at 0. I will test again first thing in the morning and report the OCLT results. I will also pick up 2 boxes of borax to bring the pH up where it needs to be.

Also, We don't have a way to "vacuum" the floors of the pool, other than a net bag type thing we attach the garden hose to. So that's only good for large debris, not the green algae gunk on the bottom of the floor. So if I were to purchase something to attach to the skimmer, or pump, or...

I know nothing, so I took some pictures in the hopes that you could tell me what they are (to put in my signature), and to make sure they are appropriate for my pool. My pool is a 28' octagon, 3' for 1/3?, then quickly goes to 6'. I guessed it to hold around 20,700 gallons.
