A new liner it a definite. It appears to me that that there is a simple reason as to why standard pools go 15,18,21,24,27, etc. Exactly 3' apart. They just use more supports & a longer wall to get the next size up. I could be wrong.

I grabbed a pool for really cheap ($100). Thought it was a 24' but turns out to be a 27'. My property & deck is set for a 24' from the previous owner. Can I simply install one or two less rails,posts, etc an end up with a 24' circle? Then re-drill the steel wall at the 24' mark. I really...
