    Sulfates why so bad?

    I see dry acid is discouraged here for its sulfate content. Why is that? Does not sulfate and chloride ions cancel each other out at the end point? Just trying to get a better understanding.

    A respected person in the aquarium trade told me you can measure salt with a tds meter for a pool, and that my refractometer is too hard to read accurately the small amt of salt we use in out pools since seawater is 35000ppm. I just have problems with test strips, Never liked them for aquariums...

    I just switched to the new style, and seeing from the posts that the new style is somewhat of a pita. The old design with 16 bolts and nuts are starting to sound better. I'll know at the end of the season how much of a problem it is. Waste any tips to use to get the belly clamp on and off?

    How to keep the keeeds out? Looking for a way to lock up.

    Trying to keep the kids off the deck when adults are not around. I have a standard fence latch, and it has a slot for a lock. Do I just put a pad lock on it, or is there a better way? TIA!!!

    Leak by bump lever on a hayward 40 DE filter

    DE filter leaking thru bump lever. :( I am thinking this is a bad sign. The only thing i did this years is clean it out good. besides backwashing all the DE out. Looking like i have to tear her down and inspect for cracks or tears in the seals. Ugh Any tips what to look for??? TIA!!

    I have had a pool for 10 years and the 11th (This winter)the liner ripped and destroyed the walls of the pool. It had a good run of 30 years. The pool was installed in 1980 and it has the original liner in it. Had to get another because my 7 yr old loves swimming and its great for entertaining...
