Few days of below freezing temp. What to do?

I’ve had this problem in past years even when draining. There’s still water upstream of the drained backflow device and this is what was splitting my valves. Solution. Found inlet line underground and tied in a ball valve there with a union I can drain. Now I drain it below ground where the...

Few days of below freezing temp. What to do?

At these temps it would take a long time for algae to grow lol. Just got around to starting my equipment back up after the great freeze of 2021. After we lost power I pulled all drain plugs and covered everything up best I could. 3 days no power with lows near 12 degrees. Everything came out...

New Build - Pearland (S. Houston)

The M400 is a great bot. Was a holdout for many years of an old pressure side cleaner. Finally caved and bought this bot and kick myself for not doing it many years ago. Pool is so much cleaner. I would say even if I had to replace it every year I’d do it because it’s that incredible. Good choice!

Does water leaking in always equal water leaking out?

I was almost to the point of just living with the minor leaks until I either sold the place or until I refinished again in 20 years. This time without the ecofinish. Honestly I suspect there’s quite a few pools out there with this ecofinish problem but the leaks are so minor it’s just not...

Does water leaking in always equal water leaking out?

Definitely. Looks like you already saw my thread. I highly doubt silicone is going to be a lasting repair. As to ground water are you sure? Is the spa attached to a pool? If so are you sure the water source isn’t the pool leaking? My pool contractor were adamant that it was groundwater that was...

Pool Remodel leads to leak. Seeking solutions

Well the saga has finally come to an end over a year later. In the end every penetration was leaking in both the pool and spa following the remodel. The reason we couldn’t fix the leaks around the penetrations in the spa is that the pool was leaking as well (not known at the time) creating...

Pool Remodel leads to leak. Seeking solutions

If you could answer that question I’d pay you copious sums of money lol. Leak crew is coming back out today. I will absolutely watch them pressure test the air line. As a side note I know it was leaking around the outside of the drains prior to them replastering everything. Even have it on...

They pressure tested the returns which the air line connects to.

Pool Remodel leads to leak. Seeking solutions

Well just another failure in a long line of them. New contractor comes in, replaces drains and return fittings. Pressure test. All good. New plaster all around. And yet.....it still leaks. I’m about ready to just make it a giant flower pot.

Pool Remodel leads to leak. Seeking solutions

Few more pictures. As you can see they also drilled a hole to try and relieve what they were saying was groundwater.

Pool Remodel leads to leak. Seeking solutions

Well finally broke down and fired the contractor. Just couldn’t deal with anymore failed attempts and further destruction of the surface. Hired a a new company that can hopefully correct the issue. Hey and just a word of warning for those considering the ecofinish rout on a remodel. We...

Well he came back, cut out his patch once again , and this time filled it with plaster. Still leaking. Why can’t this water be stopped?

Pool Remodel leads to leak. Seeking solutions

Well the saga continues if anyone is wondering. It’s obvious now that it’s coming from around the main drain somewhere. Confirmed both visually and by hydrophone. Only problem it’s been patched with putty once, then completely cut around and repatched. Yet the leak still remains. This can been...

Going DIY - Making changes to pool setup

Looks like I was a bit off with my previous reply. After reading that link I realized I was thinking of the 011028 as you mentioned above. There are differences between the 18 and 56. Not sure if they’re worth the extra cost though. The 011018 has been the gold standard around here for awhile.

Don’t have much to add but noticed you mentioned the 011056. May want to look into the 011018. Same pump (minus the rotatable control panel) and much cheaper. Currently on amazon for $895
