    Topping off with softened water

    I have a fair amount of iron in my well water and would like to top off the pool with softened water. I currently use Morton's Rust Defense salt in my softener. Would that contain anything that would be harmful to the pool?

    Recommended TA levels for saltwater pool

    I was wondering what the recommended level was for total alkalinity for a saltwater pool. My level has increased from about 80 to 110 in the last month or so. I have heard that higher levels of TA can cause PH to rise more quickly.
