Been running inline chlorine feeder constantly to seemingly no effect

I measured CYA Monday, the day after I first added the tabs. It was 85 then. Is that ok? The water is crystal clear right now, but I'm coming off some algae that I shocked last weekend and have been scrubbing away over the week. The pool surface has a bunch of rough spots that seem to just hold...

Been running inline chlorine feeder constantly to seemingly no effect

While I wait to install my new saltwater chlorine generator, I decided to make use of the old inline chlorine feeder to keep my pool clean. The last SWCG was installed 8 years ago, so it's possible this feeder hasn't been used in that time. You can see in the picture that the tubing is bone...

Impulse bought an RJ-45+ and upright mounting kit. Did I make the right choice?

First-time homeowner for 2 months. My pool came with an SWCG. It hasn't appeared to work since I moved in, and since I didn't know anything about pools beforehand, I was relying on the inspector to diagnose this, but they missed it. I had an electrician come by last Friday to help me with it...

Solar Skimmers - worth it or not?

My weir door is just a little too wide, too. How did you trim the sides? I'm afraid I'll just scratch the sides and end up making it wider.

Anyone "upgraded" their gas meter recently? Did you have to pay?

I'd especially like to hear from you if you're using Centerpoint in Houston. I am in the exact same situation that @rhawke was in in October 2018: I am a customer of Centerpoint Energy in Houston; I have a 400k BTU Pentair Mastertemp heater; and my gas connection cannot supply it with enough...

    How does a blower work?

I see the problem now. I didn't have to open the spa control box. There's a port on the underside where the switch tube is supposed to connect. I completely missed the switch tube, which had sunk down into the conduit below the control box, which is completely out of line with the port. In fact...

    How does a blower work?

I went outside and looked closer at the thing in the spa that I thought was just a cap. It was stuck, but it is a button! Thank you. Ah! That reminds me of this bit from the deluge of conversations before closing on this house: > Spa air blower is functional and in good operating condition...

    How does a blower work?

I don't know that my blower is turning on. I leaned near it and heard gurgling, so I assumed that meant it was on. I've never seen another blower. Where would a venturi fitting be? Here's my spa. The first pic has no visible switches or dials. The second has some port over the step with a cap...

    How does a blower work?

I have some old-fashioned wheel-turning clocks that turn two pumps on and off, but that's the only automation I'm aware of. I'm unsure if they're wired to anything else. How can I tell? For the valves, I'm turning them manually.

    How does a blower work?

I don't seem to have to flip a switch to turn my blower on. I just redirect the pump return to the spa and it comes on automatically. If I'm directing only partial flow to the spa, it doesn't come on, so there is some minimum threshold. How does that work? Is there a switch hidden somewhere that...

What weir door do I need for this skimmer?

Thanks! I narrowed it down to the Pentair 516252: Weir Assembly - 516252 - INYOPools.com

What weir door do I need for this skimmer?

I'm assuming it matches this door on the other skimmer, but I don't want to risk breaking it by trying to rip it out: Here is the skimmer lid if that helps (I read in another thread that it doesn't identify the door):

Solar Skimmers - worth it or not?

@Katodude, how does the credit card give you an extra year of warranty? Is that a perk specific to one credit card you have, or a common perk among many cards? Is the extra year covered by the manufacturer or by the card issuer?

What is this poorly covered vent on the side of my pool?

Should I remove the cover? Why might someone cover it?

What is this poorly covered vent on the side of my pool?

It is the only one in the pool. Does it go along with these vents in the deck? What are they?

New homeowner, new pool, please help me get control

The pressure went up about a half PSI. It was too dark for me to judge the return flow. Good to know! I had already emptied the bag once, and maybe it's just my fault that it wasn't wrapped around the hose. I can't remember if I found it that way.
