    High TA -Help

Appears that my TA is high, but my PH is somewhat in range. Pool maths is suggesting I add 2gal if Mauriatic acid. Sounds like a ton! PH 7.2 TA 230 Will TA drop on its own?

    Slow popping foam/bubbles

What’s causing this? Happens when I add water or when we slash around. They fade away slowly. But curious on the cause and maybe how to address it.

    Shock- off amazon

How long would you say it takes for chlorine to mix? For example- force a break, add some chlorine… for long till the swimmers can get back in?

    Shock- off amazon

Whoa didn’t know those were all possibilities. We are planning on having quite a bit of swimmers next week and I just want to stay ahead of the game. But sounds like to me I should be okay with liquid chlorine and maintain FC:CYA table. Because of the heavy activity I would want to check daily...

    3” Tablets Really Needed

I’m leaning towards liquid… I know there was a tablet shortage last year, was it the same with liquid chlorine as well?

    3” Tablets Really Needed

Read that If I went on vacation for a few days or so I can bring my chlorine levels up SLAM levels (based on CYA) and should be fine for a few days. But tablets seem like it’s more work then reward.

    3” Tablets Really Needed

First off thanks to TFP has been such a great platform and teacher. Thanks to everyone who has helped me learn a ton the last week or two. With that said I can’t stop thinking pool chemistry… it’s all new to me :) I have two brand new 40lbs 3” tablets I bough a few weeks ago for the season. As...

    Drain or not to drain…?

We’re about to get some rain… thought on letting rain water in or should I cover the pool?

    Drain or not to drain…?

According to the CYA chart I need to be at 80ppm for CYA to maintain/target FC at 9-11ppm, with a minimum of FC @ 5ppm. So technically I’m there now right?

Safe to Get In…asking for my Kids ;-)

Just to confirm… we are good to get in with FC level from 6-31ppm with a CYA of 80? Sorry nervous about hurting the kids with such a high FC level of 21.5 ppm.

    Drain or not to drain…?

I have a vinyl pool and scared to drain to much at one time. Is there a recommendation on how much I can drain without messing anything up? If I have to drain and refill, I don’t have any issues doing that at all. Or should I just let it be, and keep my FC according to the CYA “liquid chlorine”...

    Drain or not to drain…?

I was frustrated with the cloudy water so I dump a ton of liquid chlorine. Two days ago it was at 35ppm. So it’s drop quite a bit from UV, vacuuming and backwashing.

    Drain or not to drain…?

Does this mean I need to increase my FC to 31ppm since my current CYA is 80ppm?
  28. L

    Drain or not to drain…?

My understanding is CYA will not drop on its own and the only way to lower it is to drain and replace water.

    Drain or not to drain…?

Long story short my numbers are below via K2006 FC 21.5 (good news no drop on OCLT) CYA 80 TA 250 PH 7.4 Thinking ahead, I use 3inch chlorine tablets and have two 40lbs cases of them. What I have read are the tablets let’s out CYA as well. With my current CYA at 80 I’m assuming once my FC...
