The new sensor came in late evening on Thursday. I installed it and the heater seems to be working. It ran fine for an hour until my pool schedule kicked in and turned off the pool. I’ll test for longer in the AM and report back.

The filter is about due for a cleaning, but it's usually not bad. I keep my water crystal clear thanks to this site. I can make time to clean it this weekend to be safe.

Interesting. I've had the same settings for 5 years. The heater errors out in spa mode as well when it is pumping at 55 GPM.

the app shows 30GPM & 1,979 RPM in pool mode. spa is 54 GPM & 3450RPM

I did. I posted it earlier, but I just referred to it as "my handheld". The heater cut off when the exhaust temp hit 309. I didn't get a picture b/c it cut off as I was getting my phone ready.

The air temp here is about 73 degrees. The flue didn't feel too hot. I was a little warm from trying to run the heater. I bought a sensor on Amazon. It will be here tomorrow. I'll swap it out tomorrow and see if that changes anything. I can't express how much I appreciate the help. :cheers:

I have no idea. What should I be looking for, the valves controlling the water flow? I have intellivalves, so I don't touch them. I will go check to make sure they are operating as they should. However, the heater errors out whether I'm using the pool or spa.

Ah... Slippery Pete was the name of a character on Seinfeld in one episode. He was a sketchy electrician. Considering I can't use a multimeter, I am obviously not an electrician. :p

Ok. I tested it holding down the "pool on" button. The numbers climbed up pretty fast. I think I first saw 180 > 250 > 330 > 400 and then the heater shutoff.

I feel like this is one of those thing like telling the newb to go get the cable stretcher. lol I'll go back and test using the buttons. I did get an E06 error just now on the display. I tested the sensor and this is the result.

My heater just cut off when the exhaust temp hit 309 on my handheld. My panel (pic in earlier post) doesn’t have an on button. I have “pool on” and “spa on”. Is it one of those that I need to hold down?

I finally had a few minutes to take of the panels and trip the heater. It appears my SFS (Stack Flue Sensor) is going off. Is step one to replace the sensor and see if that fixes the problem?

Stupid question, but I'll need to turn on the heater for it to show the error on the LED, correct? I watched a youtube video but didn't get an answer to that.

Without the thermal regulator, the heater fired up and almost immediately shut off and lit up the 'Service Heater' light. I stuck my hand in to feel for the bypass valve. Everything I could reach, felt solid. But this is in a tight and awkward spot so I can't get down there to look in the hole.

Thermal regulator seems to be working just fine.
