Cleaning your filter regularly? Should back flush after it gets 25% higher than the clean filter pressure.

With your fiberglass pool, I don't think you need to worry about CH. As jblizzle said, add your LC and test after 30 minutes.

The Taylor 2006 kit on Amazon is $55 and you'd have it a couple of days. Well worth it. The person who couldn't read the high pH reading....doesn't really matter. He needs to add a little MA to get it lower. Once lower, the reading is clearer to see.

If you want to save on your reagents when testing FC, you could always use a 5mL sample. One scoop of the powder and then each drop is 1ppm. I use a 10mL syringe off of Amazon to squirt in the 5mL. Run your OCLT with the 10mL sample. Testing during the day with 5mL.
