Automatic cover rope out of track the to busted rope guide

I don’t think they replaced the tracks when they put in new ropes. But I do see that there isn’t a support on the broken side like there is on the good side - indicated by the two open holes. Could that have caused this?

Automatic cover rope out of track the to busted rope guide

I shut our pool cover last night when it was already dark. I heard a weird metallic grinding noise and and a ping - but then it kept closing. Since we have no lights by the pool, I had to wait for morning to investigate. It turns out the rope guide on our cover snapped off the metal track...

    liner corner won’t snap in

My vinyl liner is near the end of its life. It’s done well; it’s lasted at least 14 years. Last year the corner came loose, and this year, even more has pulled free. My husband and I tried today to get it back in the lock. No dice. We tried both hot water and a hair dryer. We can stretch the...

$3K to refill pool after replacing liner?

So I’m trying to budget to replace my liner next year. The actual liner + installation quote is $6500. Pricey but about what I expected. But the cost of trucking in water to refill the pool is $3500. 😮 Whoa. That seems so high. We are on a well, so I’d rather not fill it that way, both...

Why would my FC go higher than anticipated

Yes. I got zero FC after the pump has been running close to 24 hours. And that’s pretty normal for me. The pool was been closed since early October ‘23. I try to have the water balanced when we close - around 3 ppm FC - but it’s all gone by the time spring comes. (As is all the CYA, but that’s...

Why would my FC go higher than anticipated

I added 2 gallons of 12.5% liquid chlorine. According to the Pool Math app, that should raise my FC by 6.2 ppm. I am measuring more than double that.

Why would my FC go higher than anticipated

The pool pump had run for 24 hours before I added bleach. I then waited two hours to test. So I don't think it's an individualized issue.

Why would my FC go higher than anticipated

So you were half right. I did a 10ml sample and forgot that each drop is .5. But I did it again, with a clean tube, being very careful to count each drop, and I stopped adding solution after 32 drops. The sample was still very pink, although not as hot pink as it was originally. Could my R871...

Why would my FC go higher than anticipated

I'm just opening my Minnesota pool for the 2024 year. Tested the water yesterday when we first turned the pump on, and the FC was zero, as anticipated. Pool Math recommended I add 1.7 jugs of 12.5% chlorine to raise the FC to 4, so I did that a few hours ago. Just went out to measure and the FC...

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

How would I measure the pressure of the water coming out of the hose?

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

To clarify: The pressure release valve leaks when the hose is attached, with or without the inline filter. The only time it didn't leak was when I had ONLY the wall connector hooked up with no hoses, nothing after, nada. I have a large pool, so I have two swivels plus 3 hoses between the...

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

YES! A clue. I just tried removing the in-line filter section and reattached the rest of the hose (sans backup valve and vacuum). Water has started leaking again from the pressure release valve. (Although the pressure coming from the end of the hose is intense, even with the pressure release...

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

Can you explain what you mean by the ID of the swivel? I have a couple of swivel joints.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

I've tried three separate new pressure release valves, all with the same issue. So no debris. But @Rocket J Squirrel's suggestion to remove everything and try the wall connector by itself DID allow the pressure release valve to stop releasing water. Not sure what that means.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

My understanding, from reading a lot of posts here, is that the pressure release valve is designed to release extra water. So if your vacuums are running great even with the turbulence, it's provably fine. (Do you know your wheel RPM?) This started for me because my wheel RPM is low, which...

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

I'm happy to take pictures or a video if you tell me what you want to see. I bought a brand new wall connector with a pressure release valve. It's locking tight to the wall. No screws are missing.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

OK. This is interesting. I tired removing the hose completely - AND THEN the pressure release valve didn't leak. It's progress. But I'm not sure what to try next. The next connection down is the in-line screen -- and that's clean. What do you think @Rocket J Squirrel?

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

What do you mean by head unit? If you mean the vacuum itself, I've taken that off, as well as the backup valve. The pressure release valve still leaks enough water from the wall to make the water at the surface bubble like it's boiling.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

Yes. It's clear. I've also taken it out twice and "cleaned" it, just in case.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

Yes, I have tried three different pressure valves. All have leaked water when tightened down all the way. I haven't put in a restrictor disc, because my RPMs are already too slow.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

I have taken off the vacuum and the backup valve. Water is still leaking from the pressure release valve.

Water come out of pressure release valve but RPMs are low

I've been troubleshooting my Polaris 3900 for a few weeks now. My RPMs are low - they struggle to reach 20. At the same time, my pressure release valve in the wall connector has A LOT of water coming out if it, even though it's screwed down all the way. I've cleaned my lines, checked the...

    Polaris 3900 low RPM

Hmmmm. I actually have a LOT of water coming out of the pressure relief valve on the wall connector, even though that valve is tightened all the way. The water is bubbling at the surface with all the extra water. So I think the pressure coming from the booster pump is good. But it's not getting...

Average salt reading is higher than instant?

My cell is generating chlorine, so this isn't a big deal. I'm just curious. Right now, my Aqua-Rite shows a higher number in the average salt reading than it does for the instant salt reading. I've not seen that before. Usually it's the opposite, as the system settles in. Has anyone else seen...

    Polaris 3900 low RPM

I have a trusty Polaris 3900 that is being finicky this season. I can't get the wheel RPM above 20, no matter what. The backup value is also firing strong and consistently, but it doesn't seem to have enough pressure to actually pull the vacuum out of corners and the like. It only manages to...
