Fixable -- ball valves cannot close completely?

No water features I can see.. And there is nothing that seems to connect to a pressure side cleaner. Essentially this no-valve pipe is probably the only remaining component I don't know the purpose for. Is there a keyword I should use to search? Thanks!

Fixable -- ball valves cannot close completely?

And by the way, what's the purpose of the right-most pipe (the one without a ball valve) that's split from the return line?

Fixable -- ball valves cannot close completely?

2 x 2-way Jandy valves for the two worn skimmer valves? Or is there a way to replace both the two skimmer valves and the main drain valve with a single Jandy valve? I saw the most is 3-way. And do Jandy valves last that much longer to be cost effective?

Fixable -- ball valves cannot close completely?

The two ball valves connected to two skimmers, circled in red below, become very hard to turn and no longer close completely. As a result, when I try to lower the water level, as soon as it drops below the skimmer, the pump would lose prime. Is it possible to fix these issues with ball valves...

Winterizing plugs for Hayward Jet Air III returns

I'm currently using a #11 rubber plug, but things I found online (this post and a Q&A here) indicated that SP1434TP was the plug to use for winterization. Sounds like both should work. I wonder if the people who closed and opened my pool installed the lock ring (SP1434-D) but not the nozzle...

how far to lower water in closing pool

I'm wondering where I might find more information about how a high water level damages the pool (I have an in-ground vinyl pool), if I have properly blown and plugged the lines. I don't have a submersible pump but I do have a main drain. The issue is though that the valves to turn off the...

Correct pressure (<5psi or ~20psi?) and equipment (compressor/shop-vac/leaf blower) for blowing out the lines

I am actually using a #11 rubber plug, except it went in too deep and I had trouble removing it (to build up pressure and re-plug). So I suspect I did something wrong. I was searching online and found this post and a Q&A here that says SP1434TP was the plug to use for winterization. I wonder if...

Winterizing plugs for Hayward Jet Air III returns

I think I have a Hayward Jet Air III. When closing the pool today, I realized that the fittings were not installed, but I found a few spare parts that look right here (SP1434-B, SP1434-D, SP1434-T). I used either a size 11 or 12 rubber plug, which got pushed in a little too deep, and I was...

Correct pressure (<5psi or ~20psi?) and equipment (compressor/shop-vac/leaf blower) for blowing out the lines

This is actually my view as well. Both will work; lower air volume just takes slightly longer. So I successfully blew out all the lines today. The lowest mark above 0 on my compressor's pressure gauge is 10 psi, so it doesn't have the precision to let me start at 5 psi. 10 psi worked and the...

Correct pressure (<5psi or ~20psi?) and equipment (compressor/shop-vac/leaf blower) for blowing out the lines

Yes, that's about what I remembered; just did the calculation again and a slightly more precise number is 3.9 psi. Thanks. I read three of your posts on pool closing (overview, blow-through plug, modified pump cover) -- all very helpful! The only thing I'm still trying to understand is the...

Correct pressure (<5psi or ~20psi?) and equipment (compressor/shop-vac/leaf blower) for blowing out the lines

Catanzaro and Pat: Thanks for replying. Holding a plug to build up a pressure is a really good idea to get more water out. I was thinking that even without this, I should be fine (?). My rationale was that if there were a solid column of water inside the pipe, then the water pressure depends...

Correct pressure (<5psi or ~20psi?) and equipment (compressor/shop-vac/leaf blower) for blowing out the lines

This is my first time winterizing our in-ground pool. I've read many many articles and forum posts on this topic for the fear that I may overlook something and end up damage the equipment or the underground piping. I have a Freeman 1.5 HP / 6 gallon compressor, a 3.5 HP Shop-Vac, and a Sun Joe...
