Here in WV/Ohio we have had lots of it.....you can have some of it if you want. Especially today's rain. I did my first CYA reading on Sunday morning and did it on my front porch so I'm curious if that could have been part of the reason it was reading so high.....I've been wanting to do...

Okay thanks. I'll look at it again tomorrow cause I'm thinking normal might actually be 2 or 3 but thanks for letting me know it can be that low. Before finding this site I searched all over and couldn't find anything that said that low was normal. Thought for awhile maybe the filter was bad so...

Is it normal to have a sand filter with a normal PSI reading of 3 or 4? I've seen lots of people talking about way higher normals and to backwash when it reaches a certain amount over that but mine never goes anywhere close to those numbers......

Well I don't know all the details about it because it's my b/f's pool......but it's a 15X42 above ground pool with vinyl siding and he has taken off the filter that came with it and put a sand filter on it....but not sure what kind it is.

Sooooo I assume that means you can have algae that you can't see? Because I don't see anything green or anything like that and I have scrubbed the walls down.

PS......I'm not clearing a green pool.....but I am fighting a cloudy pool.....does just a cloudy pool mean there is algae in it or just that the chemicals are out of balance?
