Thanks - I just went to the Hayward manual and it shows on page 3 the benefits of having one. Just a crazy claim by the PB plumbing team just to get the job done because they didnt come prepared.

Yeah that's what my guy preaches. Small concrete collar around the pool for the bullnose coping then ICPI standards from there.
