Almost ready to pull the trigger!

UPDATE: A second PB we had been waiting on came through with his bid and it seems more reasonable (and knowledgeable) iAqualink 6 function: 1-Main pump 2-Spa Blower 3-Nature2 Fusion Soft 1400 swg 4-Heater 5-Pool lights (2) 6-Spa light (1) Main Pump 2.7HP VS (PlusHP or FloPro?) 400k heater...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

PB replied and said removing all of those items only deducts around $700 (1LED, IFCS, Spa blower, Interchangeable spa jet heads). So our pool is $60K and if we want SWG and Aqualink its $63K (keeping all that stuff)...now the questin is do i still have him remove the IFCS anyway? is it not worth...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

So a few hundred for blower, few hundred for 1 LED, couple hundred for the $46/each spa jet heads, and the entire IFCS system/plumbing/labor should be enough to get us close to the $2800 we need to add the SWG and automation...we'll see what the PB replies.

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Yes the first page of the contract is has the pool rendering, that's the only pic i have that is digital.

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

PoolGate, The question now is just what else can we cut to knock $3k off to stay at $60K total...we only have financing for $60k so thats why I'm willing to trim the fat (1 LED, special spa jets, spa blower, etc.)

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Does this seem like a fair and reasonable negotiation to send to PB? Removing the following should get us the SWG and automation while staying at $60K Remove IFCS and all related plumbing Remove 1 LED pool light Remove the 1.5 HP Jandy Spa Blower Remove the special spa jet heads to basic ones...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

is the 1.5 HP spa blower necessary? could the spa jets run just on the main pump (when water feature is turned off of course)?

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

We haven't signed yet, but wanted to sign this week so he can start the dig on Monday when he start the other pool in our neighborhood (helping us defray the travel costs)...i don't want to rush this, but then again he's the only PB we've felt comfortable with and liked his reputation and...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

I guess on the contract the FUSION mineral cartridge is considered the "sanitizer" and the FUSION tablet feeder is the chlorinator (even though they're both housed on the same device)...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

PoolGate thanks. We had cut the Automation when we were "trimming the fat" to get down to our budget of $60k. Now we are considering adding Auto back ($1200) and adding the Fusion Soft 1400SWG ($1600), so now we're approaching $63K. When I asked if we could remove the IFCS to offset that and...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Unfortunately, this PB is the lesser of all the evils and the one we felt most comfortable with (had an itemized breakdown, best presentation, most thorough consultation, etc.)...my wife is getting ****** because she thinks i'm sabotaging this deal by nit picking.

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

I guess the confusing part is that we are at $60K speced w/ IFCS and Natures2. When i swap out Nature2 SOFT SWG and remove IFCS we are at $63K....can't understand the math...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Newdude, He said removing the IFCS wouldnt affect the price (I'm assuming he gets a kickback for selling it?). My thought was to remove the IFCS to help offset the cost of the SWG, but if I'm paying out of pocket for the full cost of the SWG then i guess I'll keep the IFCS...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Jim thank you, I'm literally emailing back and forth with PB right now because we want to sign and start digging on Monday! I want to negotiate these things (remove some things like IFCS and Minerals; and add some things like SWG and automation) but trying to hold the current total cost steady!
  20. T

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Man, that makes sense...so $1600 it is then! Definitely going SWG one way or another!

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Agree on the last draw at plaster...i'll ask about a holdback until 100% complete. Any idea what the cost should be to switch from the Nature2 to the Nature2 SOFT SWG? he is saying it will be a $1600 upgrade and that it will not be a good mix with my brick coping (house brick)...???

New Austin Build - We have a Pool!

jdog did you ever figure out the price difference between Fusion and Fusion Soft SWG? My PB is saying it will be a $1600 upgrade for the SWG, but I can't confirm that...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

My PB has a Nature2 Fusion on the bid, but I said take it off and swap it out for the SWG model...he said it was $1600 more.... (and yes i know, the mineral cartridge is trash. I won't be using that at all!) Just curious does anyone know the cost difference? Really $1600???

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

If i have PB remove IFCS, and we end up getting a robot what plumbing or feature do i need to ask the PB to add?

and the coping, tile and decking and distance for gas and electric are all included, he measured and we've picked everything out so not sure why those are blank on contract...will check that as well!

I get what you're saying about the IFCS, I'll ask him about just adding some standard floor returns and remove the IFCS.

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Allen Thanks! for a while i was the only thread with zero replies and i was beginning to think i'd done something wrong! Yes I've read a lot on TFP about infloor cleaners but the PB insists that the floor jets are more efficient for heating pool and overall water circulation. He said he'd...

Almost ready to pull the trigger!

Just wondering if anything stands out on this PB contract? It's not the most detailed, but it is the most detailed one I've gotten back out of 3 PB quotes! I know it doesn't show model numbers either (waiting for PB to send me those), but it's a start. The only items of concern are the...
