It's simply amazing how much water is out there. That's probably 30'+ at the deepest. Edit: estimated by one source to be 9 trillion gallons of water. That is about 0.17" of rain equally spread across the lower 48 states. Think about that for a second. Amazing.

Yes, do it. We are putting in a Pentair Easytouch 8 control system, which is also has 150amp breaker base. But I decided to add another 100amp box so I can run all my other stuff off of it (lights, tankless water heater, etc). I think $700 is decent.

Haha - I have thought about a driving "range", at least into a net, and a putting green with a bunker or two. But in the little research I've done, it's not cheap to build a putting green!

Generally speaking, I would say yes, since that's (to me) is what would be perceived as size while in the pool. On the releasing of drawings - some PB won't release the drawings before payment because they consider it their intellectual property and frankly are afraid you'd take the drawing...

Since it's a free form pool, it's possible that while it's longer and wider at the largest point, that in between, it's smaller.

Well... I am filling the pool... although it's not because the pool is done. With anywhere from 10"-20"+ of rain coming (depending on who you want to believe), PB suggested we fill the pool half way... just in case. There are weep hoels, several of them... but I can see how 20"+ of rain can...

Got some of the plumbing done. Threw the builder a bit of a curveball. I asked to have fresh and waste water lines and the electrical for the future covered patio place stubbed out. This way I won't have to tear up the patio to run it next year. They responded quickly and was able to adjust on...

You called it... since the start of the project, I've increase spending by 5%... sigh. Most of it really can't be seen... for example: we are pulling an extra 100 amp box to pool equipment shed, stubbing out for fresh/waste water and electrical for the covered patio coming in next year or two...

I know the LED bubblers are expensive... but think of it this way: it'd be almost impossible to add later on... and it adds a nice element to the pool.

Your pipes are probably that deep so it's below the frost line. Here, nothing freezes... we are more likely to catch on fire due to the heat. haha. I am guessing around here, it's just deep enough to keep from being damaged.

There's not that much salt in a salt water pool. If it's a concern, seal the rocks. I am not sure what you mean "test water self automate", but if you mean automate the testing, that doesn't exist. You will have to test. If you travel a lot, then salt water pool is going to be a much better...

Long plumbing was scheduled for next Tuesday, but since I can't be here because of work schedule, we moved it to this coming Wednesday. In the meantime, just a little time-lapse of the 2nd day of coping work. Missed day 1. Pi7ET9_5WSY

They finished the tile and coping work yesterday while I was out of town. Next step is to finish the plumbing work.

You will need a fitting. Depending on the housing size you will see, say, 1" NPT mail to 3/4" GHT adapter. Amazon has a few options but I bet local hardware stores will have them too.

That's funny. We have the same choices. I am not sure if it's an upgrade but we ended up liking the Northshore Tahoe a little better, I think.

If I knew about AquaBright before I learned about it here, I agree, I'd go with that. As for salt water pool in TX - I am not sure I agree with that.. My PB only builds salt water pool and I know many others that say the same thing you say "I would never own anything else". I think it's more...

The ever expanding project happens a lot, happened to us. We starting thinking that we'd extend our existing patio and add a cover. Which led to an even bigger deck/patio, which led to a pool, which led to a pool with giant deck while leaving the cover patio for later.
