    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

Welp, there’s a first time for everything. Fingers crossed they’ll do something about it. They’ve been helpful overall, so I’m fairly confident they will.

What one was just bad? It’s another system error, same as I had before from what I can tell. The system error troubleshooting procedure online doesn’t match what is actually going on sometimes (as the rep explained), so it’s hard to tell what the issue is, but they’ve said before that either...

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

I’m not saying all are this unreliable, but forgive me for this experience putting a dent in my trust of these systems overall. So, yes, once I save up for a more expensive system then I might choose that route and install. I don’t mind maintenance, I take care of my stuff as much as I can...

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

And I probably should have gone with that in the first place, sure. I’m out $2k+, can’t really justify another big purchase like that. Maybe if it had lasted longer and started to generate savings. But like I said, I’m on the fence. I like the idea of it but everyone I asked around to has had...

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

Circupool repaired the unit at 40% cost under warranty. Bad main board, cost me $350. Lasted one hour after install. The SWCG really hasn’t saved me money at all, probably a small loss if my accounting was correct. It’s saved me some time, I’m sure, but I’ve also spent a lot of time managing...

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

I must be a zillion years old, I guess. What exactly are you suggesting to paint?Painting over a control box seems like it would void the warranty of a new unit.

The coupling nut creates a leak once the cell is full of water. Someone else here devised a way to support the PVC right at the nut, but it takes a bit of finagling to get the height right. Once you get the height right, it should help. Some others used hose clamps but that didn’t work for me...

It’s under shade. It was clearly crappy plastic OOB.

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

I’ve posted about them before, but off the top of my ahead: The cell should not be mounted horizontally despite their claims it can be. The nuts are not well designed - the plastic flexes so that any pressure will cause a leak. (They knew about this and only fixed new product, not old, but the...

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

It wasn’t the cost that I chose the Edge, someone suggested it over the RJ, but I don’t remember why. My Edge 25 has a lot of weaknesses, for what it’s worth.

    SWCG Replacement Suggestions

We have another issue with our Edge 25, this time it’s looking like the control module. If I had to guess, the cheap plastic on the control module housing has cracked in multiple spots and we got wild rain a couple days ago. I bet it leaked in and is causing the issues we are seeing. I’m...

Before: After: Looks Iike I’ll be upgrading my waterfall pump soon to a variable speed to be able to dial the speed in. Right now it gushes out at a pretty high rate. I have one of those V Greens for my skimmer pump.

    Thread moved

I just posted a follow-up thread as new and it was moved to the original thread. All good, no problem there, but I have a question. When I went to the original thread to post an update, it had a banner across it saying I should start a new thread. So, how do I know when to start a new thread or not?

    Pool renovation questions

I posted previously about needing to retile and reset the coping stones - but there was concern from the pool builder that there was a broken bond beam. Yesterday they started demoing and found some interesting things. The bond beam is not broken - phew. They found that the crack was through a...

Circupool Edge 25 Water Flow Light

I replaced the SWG cell on my Edge 25 a few months ago with few issues. Yesterday I noticed the water flow light was on, so I tried increasing pump speed (was already pretty high), resetting everything, reseating cables, and checking for damage. Nothing was resolving the issue. I went out to...

I’ll take a look, thanks. I don’t see anything like that, no sinking of the deck. Every now and then I check for leaking with the bucket test, but haven’t noticed anything so far. However, it’s been about a year since I last checked it.

Thanks. How would we know if it’s already caused a lot of damage? Last thing we want is to agree to a repair and suddenly more major things have to be repaired.

    Pool renovation questions

Does anybody have any advice on this? There’s no way we would be able to afford what they’re quoting on fixing the beam. If the beam isn’t critical, does anyone have any experience with similar coping stones to Oklahoma flagstone?

    C-600 from TFtestkits

The pH measurement precision is pretty wide. Just from using it a few times, turning it off and on again, I’d put it close to +/-0.5.

Replacement SWG cell for Circupool Edge 25

Yes, that would help. What are you using to support it? My run is quite short in my opinion - from what I recall it is at the minimum length before the flow sensor and the cell is right after that, then the elbow. But still, it does sag, so I need to support it better.

    C-600 from TFtestkits

Got this in today, thanks. pH is within 0.1 of my fancy tester. Temperature was 1.5degF low, but my tester actually also seems to be off. Using a calibrated Thermapen, it might be closer to 4degF low. The salt ppm reads 3800 but my dropper tests at 3200. It probably just needs to be...

Most of the expansion joint looks like the one where it looks unbroken. That picture is from the expansion joint behind the long stretch of falling tile as in the previous image. The worst spots are recently where some of the joint broke off (I’d say the last 5 months?). The area around the...
