Pentair Easy Touch, beginning to fail?

I'm guessing high voltage then... It looks like the transformer feeds the board (and the signal?), but the light seems to get it's power from the GFI. That make sense? I also assume that my existing light will have a model number and voltage on it... might try to pull it out tomorrow.

Pentair Easy Touch, beginning to fail?

Thanks for your help, Jason. You're the best! I traced my problem to the GFI was tripping. (FYI for anyone reading this, the GFI is installed in the easytouch box, very bottom right corner, little white box, has an outlet and reset button on the outside of the easytouch box.) I have three...

Pentair Easy Touch, beginning to fail?

Hi ALL! Hope everyone is doing great! Two issues with my 6 year old Easy Touch: 1. About 3 months ago my remote control stopped being able to communicate with the panel. The connections seem secure. and maybe a completely separate issue: 2. A few days ago my 3 LED pool lights stopped...

    Black algae?

Guess I should be more accurate on my actions... For the first day, (actually about 12 hours), ran my generator on 100%, second day, Tuesday (about 10 hours), ran my generator on 80%, third day, brushed pool this morning, Wednesday, tested water, was at 8.0 ppm Chlorine (so I backed generator...

    Black algae?

Hey MOM! I'll try to get some pics this afternoon. How elevated do I need to get the chlorine, and how long you think? That's one thing that I haven't done is continually brush them... then again... that's why I'm here... so I can get focused!

    Black algae?

Good afternoon Good Folks!! Old member here, and thanks to the good folks here my pool has been doing pretty good. On and off (mostly on), I've been having what seems to be more and more spots of algae in my pool. They're black, about the size of a pencil eraser, come off with a little...

Gustav has passed... review my numbers, please?

Hi folks, Gustav passed over, not so quietly, left us without power for only 6 (mildly warm) days. I had plenty of time the fish out the leaves and debris, and to stir in some hth chlorine that I managed to get someone at HD to let me into the garden/pool care area. NOTE to self: get bleach...

    Suggestions on Pool-Side Storage?

Yet something a little a different yet... I was looking for something other than plastic too. It seems that we have a lot of small stuff like testing kit, huggies, sunglasses, lotions, tools, towels, toys, openers, glasses, etc. I found a chest-of-drawers (or dresser) on craigslist for $10...

    Belldiver's Pool Build

Wow Jim, That's beautiful. The easy compliments are the nifty decorative tiles, but I know you sweated the details and will enjoy the fruits of your work. I'm glad to see it come together for you, and know you'll enjoy getting wet in it any day now... if you haven't already. What plaster did...

    Is it a conspiracy?

Very interesting stuff, Richard. Its nice to hear such an informative explanation of, what on the surface, seems so complex. Also interesting, a few of those companies have been my customers (about 10 miles from my house), and of course employ friends of mine. (Oxychem, Chemtura) thanks...

    Glacier pool cooler

Landmark, just a couple things... as an update, I've still been watching my temp, it's 1:00 pm here, sunny, and my temp is at 89 deg F. I think if I wanted it at 86, I could do it by running at night (and maybe daytime.) Also... I have a very wide spillover from my hot tub, and I honestly am...

    Kids playing with returns

I think you're paranoid. If you're lines can't handle the full pressure of the pump at any given time, you might as well know it now. If its not leaking now... you can sleep good tonight. There will be other things to worry about by tomorrow. relax. :goodjob:

    Glacier Pool chillers

Hi guys, In high humidity area of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and similiar situation. Last weekend, my pool went from it's relatively comfortable 90 degrees to an unacceptable 94 deg F. I had been using my "deck jets" during the day, which had helped to keep it at 90, but now needed more help. I...

MoCity Pool Build (formerly Pool dig / depth questions)

Mo, It seems that every manufacturer has their own installation instructions, and I don't know about Wet Edge, but SGM (mfg of DiamondBrite) does their best to be as vague as possible and states in about every other sentence that there is no substitute for experience. (therefore they really...

MoCity Pool Build (formerly Pool dig / depth questions)

Mo, I can't imagine those capped line giving you any problems, especially if its pointing up, so it won't even create a "dead space" for uncirculated water, as gravity will occasionally allow that little bit of water to circulate. Only you can tell if the capped lines might be somewhere that...

    I'm confused R-0003 vs. R-0600, TF-100/Taylor/HTH

RE: TF-100 and Taylor BASIC Test Kit (OT) 1. On the TF-100 Instructions in my kit, I see no mention of the R-0600 that is in my kit. 2. There is a mention of R-0300 in the CC test. (Which I have no bottles labed R-0300, but I may have had at some point.) 3. On the Taylor Instuctions, it...

    Sport Pool - Anyone Regret?

Does the term "sport pool" mean that the "deep" end is in the middle? Or that there is no "deep" end? IMHO, more important than where the "deep end" is, is really, how deep is it? Obviously, the age of the users and expected activities are the critical factors. Our deep end is 6', and if I...

    Chlor nomore

Tagprod, Are you trying to butter me up? btw, without my glasses, your avatar looks like Paul Bear Bryant. If you lived in bama I'd assume it was him, but since you don't... I'll make other assumptions.

    Chlor nomore

but it certainly is a very clever name. that poor chlorine... sure gets a bad rap, huh? so many songs come to mind... hurts so good if loving you is wrong, how can this feel so right? i can see clearly now (that I got my chlorine level right) and those that those anti-chlorine sellers...

Automated pH Correction - What do you think?

ok... I'll bite. just 2 days ago as i was reading the thread about The Chlorinator, I was thinking... "the heck with The Chorinator, I've got that puzzle solved with the swg... what we really need is an automated injection system for the acid... but given the "struggles" with chlorine...

Best Way to Add Muriatic Acid?

There's a thread on this somewhere. To me, premixing is just one more handling of something that you don't want to handle anyway. I always wear some kind of glasses... usually just sunglasses... but wear someting over your eyes. Don't know about yours, but mine are too valuable to risk a...

Getting Started ... Your thoughts on the plan?

An automatic (automated robot, whatever you wanta call it) is not even an option. It's a must. Whatever you do, get the pump, get the plumbing installed... if you need to delay buying the cleaner itself, that's ok... it'll take you about a week to realize the need for it. I've never...

Pretty new pool owner and am having problems.

Good for you!! YOU ARE FREE NOW!!! After you test a time or two, you won't even consider having them do it for you. I promise. Why drive there (at $4.00+/gallon)? Why trust their results? Why have to humor their advice? You will have no desire to let them touch you water again! Despite my...

jasonr, looks good. couple things... if you don't have plenty of shade, put you a few more umbrella stands in. we have 2 in our pool, 2 on the deck, and wish I had more. you may not use them all at once, but the more you put in, the more places you can use them. make sure they hold them...

Pretty new pool owner and am having problems.

Welcome Allusion, If you add a bunch of chlorine and a bunch of bleach, and NOTHING changes... you better check your test method. I had that situation once, and sure enough, the test method was the problem. Unless your poolstore is next door, and their methods are better than most reported...

A Cheap Pool Cooler for the end of Summer

hairco, hows this sound? when you build your sprinkler, or fountain, or cooler, add an additional "leg" that will shoot straight into the pool, and put a VALVE on this leg so you can turn it off or on at any given time. I guess you'll have to use a 3-way valve for it to turn the sprinker side...
