That's a great price for a complete pump. Hopefully it will last a few years. Can you get seal kits for it? I read a post here a while back expressing an opinion that pumps have become a commodity. I think I'm leaning that way.

Variable or two speed is worth the extra cost if you run it at a lower rpm (lower watts, lower cost). Depending on your electric rates you'll make that extra cost back.

I've never done it but a quick search indicates you can drill and tap pvc to install pipe fittings - there are even some posts here on TFP.

I guess I could have been clearer, I was asking because I was curious how long it took to get the fc down from 8 to 2, trying to gauge how long you let the water sit below minimum fc. I don't have a spa but letting fc go below minimum in heated water doesn't sound like a good idea.

Have you tried to suck the water out of it to see if the level returns?

If you have any cat 5 or cat 6 lan cable laying around you could use that.

My LC pool has 1875 ppm salt. I haven't done any partial drain/ refills for quite some time due to ongoing rainfall issues here in the west. I saw some LC to salt calcs somewhere here at TFP and they lined up pretty good with my 1875 ppm.

How did the liner fit?? What method did you use to maintain the floor level? Did you a transit periodically? Beautiful pool, nice deep blue.
