Hello All, I just recharged my DE. After slamming the pool, it was a good time to clean up the filter. But, first thing is I think I added too much DE powder. The Clorox stuff said to add nine pounds of DE. I think I added about 11-12 pounds. Would that be a problem? And the second thing is...

Yeah, it looked clear when the robot was not working. It just stirred up the dust from the bottom. BTW, how do you guys keep the bottom surface clean? I have a park/trees behind by house. So it is a pain.

SLAMMED the pool! Clean and clear now. Just waiting for the chlorine to come down.

I am not sure why they are called a pool guy to begin with, all they are out to do it throw in a chlorine puck from time to time. When i moved to my new house, the previous owners had a pool guy paid off till the end of July. All they did, was come in and throw in a puck or two. My CYA was 130...

Cool. Thanks! The sun hits my pool sometime around 9:45-10:00 and stays till around 18:00. I guess i still have a long way to go, with an overnight loss of 3.5ppm. Running through bleach like it was water! I might soon run out of R-0871 to keep doing these tests! :)

Is testing the water at 9:00 in the morning, considered fair enough for OCLT test?? Or should i do it even earlier, like 6:00 or 7:00? I tested last night at midnight.

Here is the current status:

Cuurently CYA is 70. So i got my FC is at 28 now. I goofed a little with the pool math. As i was calculating SLAM levels for my friend's pool and forgot to change the pool size. So FC went up to 37. This morning it was 25.5 now got it up to 28 again.

Super thanks again. SLAM is going on. Its getting clearer. Still the deep end is cloudy! With my CYA, i had to pour in a little more chlorine today!

I was thinking of recharging my DE soon. The thing is my pool is going through the SLAM process. So was thinking more pressure means quicker results! If you say 10 is fine, i guess i will be patient! :D

DX5S arrived yesterday. It is pretty cool. But one thing i noticed, the filter full alert turns on too quickly! Or maybe my pool was just too dirty!!

Just one last question... is 10psi pressure too low?

That is very good way of putting it. I do clean it time to time, but not at the rate i was doing previously. Just waiting for the cleaner to arrive and take care of it!
