    First Time Balance

Thanks again. Just got in the stabilizer and calcium. I'll add tonight. Quick question on chlorine production: If my SWG is set at 90% and pumps run 6a-9p, and my chlorine is at 5.5, if I set the production to 80% and do nothing else, will it lower my FC over time? Do I want the FC at 5.5? Just...

    First Time Balance

Thanks! I installed the Pool Math app. It's telling me my TA needs to be lowered by lowering the pH and aerating. Do you think I need to do that? I'll test the CH in the fill water and let you know. Will knowing that help in knowing what to do to raise it? Pool Math says 81lbs of Calcium...

    First Time Balance

Hi All, Finally got my TF-Pro and turned on my SWG. I'm colorblind so had to have my wife's help by we performed all of the tests in just under an hour. Hopefully we will get a lot faster. :) Water is clear but want to make sure it's balanced well as we have people over Saturday. Test...

How Often Should I Run My Pumps and Heater?

I have my main pump and a second pump that pushes water to the tanning ledge and overflows into the main pool. I'm 4 weeks from plaster and have been running both pumps 24/7. How often, and when, should I run my pumps going forward? Same general question for my heater. It took about 4 days of...

    New Pool, Heater Help/Advice

This sounds promising to me. Can you tell me more about this? How do you take it on and off? Do you have any photos of that process or even photos of how you store the cover? How often do you cover / uncover? When do you run your heater? Thanks for the advice.

    New Pool, Heater Help/Advice

Thanks all. My pool is a free-form pool 43'x35' feet. It's basically 3 large circles in an L shape. Anyone know a good place to get a cover for something like that? Starting to feel like I just wasted a lot of money on a heater that's not going to work for me.

    New Pool, Heater Help/Advice

Right, I was just explaining that we are on propane so opted for an electric heat pump (I know that's redundant) since we only have the stove running on LP, and don't have a large tank.

    New Pool, Heater Help/Advice

My new in ground pool was finished recently and we were given the green light to turn on the heater. The pool is 35,000 gallons with 1,000sf surface area according to the build specs. We are using propane and opted for a heat pump heater/chiller. I was lead to believe that while slower to...

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

Hey everyone. The guys that built the pool maintain it for 4 weeks. They came out and put metal free in it. Didn't ask so I guess it's part of the build service. Anyway, water was clear Friday and Saturday. We had a storm last night and woke up to this. This is a different color than last...

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

Which I appreciate. I read the ascorbic acid page. I'll do that later since it sounds like it will be ok to wait.

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

I did that on a smaller area last week. After 15minutes of scrubbing it made it less noticeable but still there. The area was maybe 4x4inches. These stains are everywhere on 1,000sf pool. Is there not a faster way? I'll do it if it's the best way, it's just going to take days if not weeks...

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

I appreciate that but I'm trying to understand what can be done. I'm looking for solutions. I don't especially care right now if it comes from a bottle. I paid $100k plus for a pool that now has stains all in it that I don't want to get worse. If it's not going to get worse, great, but in still...

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

It was 50% brown. The pool guys put a bottle of metal free in it when they were here 2 days ago. Iron stains all along the water line tile grout, sides of the plaster, and tile grout on the spillover. Wife is upset so that's why I'm trying to understand the solution, even if I don't tackle it...

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

I see I can cut the flow totally from the main drain so it's only coming from the two skimmers. Is that what I should do?

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

Ah, OK. The water is clearer this morning but of course it has stained the grout on my tile spillover and around the white plaster edges. Best way to clean that? Something I can add to the water to clean it our do I have to go all around the pool to each area and spot clean?

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

There are 6 wall drains as well as the main drain in the bottom. The 2 skimmers don't pull much water. There's not a way to fill the actual pool filter with the polyfill?

What caused my new pool water to turn green?

Can I put the polyfill in these pump debris baskets? What about in the large filter itself?
