I have plenty of time! so if i read your message correctly each time i do a new "cycle" with the DE i add a little more and eventually it would have cleared most of the fine particles so the DE wont get clogged as fast thus the filter wont get clogged as fast!

a "normal" reading on my guage is 50. (gauge max is 60) i would usually wait for it to get almost to 60. at that point the water pressure coming from the return was cut in half!! it would also take over 2 minutes back washing for the water to get clear. thanks for all your all's help!!!

yeah im gonna take all the sand out and replace the lateral and put in new sand. seems like an easy fix!!

I took it apart and there is a large crack going all the way down the long vertical piece going into the sand filter!

i just filled my pool up with completely fresh water. i cant add chlorine for two days. will it be safe from algae. were having real hot days and i don't have the pump running yet. (water level not high enough)
