Hello,
We have noticed that our FC has been going down to 2ppm in the past few days so we started to add liquid chlorine to raise it up until we figure out what’s going on with our salt cell. We have had it for 3 summers and always used to run it at 50% for 12 hours a day, and the FC would vary between 6-8ppm.
We checked the cell and it had no scale. We have never found any build up on it, but every 3 - 4 months we rinse it with the hose when we do the filter clean.
So our next step was to run the diagnostics. Everything looks good on the diagnostics screen, except we can’t find any information on board temperature. It seems really high. What should the board temperature reading be?

Also when we test the water for salt it shows 2800, but the Diag screen says 3200. Which one should we go by?
Thank you for any help!

Algae can consume the generated chlorine faster than the SWG can generate it.

Does your pool pass the Overnight Chlorine Loss Test? If not, you need to follow the SLAM Process to get your pool algae-free.

Also when we test the water for salt it shows 2800, but the Diag screen says 3200. Which one should we go by?
As long as the SWG is happy then your salt level is fine.

Thank you so much! We will try the overnight test.
Do you know what the “board temperature” on the Diag screen should be? Ours is 115 degrees and that seems really high.
Thank you again!
Nope.

115 degrees is probably fine when the SWG is generating.
