Ok, I’m new here, but have had my easy touch system since 2007. I have a whisper flow variable speed pump and a mastertemp 400 Heater. Finally got around to repairing my heater leak at the manifold, replace new heater board, and the heater won’t activate. No board power. I jumpered the firemen switch and got power to the heater board. Spa on /off, pool on/off. No error code but “Service System” LCD on. Tracing back to the easy touch panel, 27 watts on the green and yellow wires at the heater power port port on the easy touch control panel board. Diagnostic error code was 146 initially, however I located loose connections on the J20 green and yellow wires and tightened the connections. Self diagnostic read error code 46 now. I heard all three relays trip during the diagnostic. Circuit breakers aren’t thrown. I checked all the screw connections on the board, and also checked the relay connections which were snug. With circuit breakers off I used my volt ohm meter on the coil legs of every relay and read 300 ohms. So at this point I’m at a loss. My guess is I have a bad chip on the board or a bad board. What else can I check to narrow this down? Your help is appreciated. Attached are photos.

You say you jumpered the Fireman's Switch to run the heater from its control panel?
Does the heater run properly in standalone mode from its control panel?
Get the heater running standalone before working on the EasyTouch problems.

As you know, the EasyTouch just closes a relay to complete the fireman's loop..
The first thing to do is jumper the fireman's loop right at the heater and make sure the heater works standalone first..

So I forgot to mention that when troubleshooting and going through the Pentair trouble shooting list I also replaced the transformer besides the board. I repinned the color coded wires on the new transformer to match the same configuration as the oldd transformer. After going through the trouble shooting checklist pg. 50. The board was still dead on power until the fireman’s switch was jumpered. The board lighted up and switches appeared to work on the heater board, but “service system” displayed. The trouble shooting checklist indicated it was a problem at the easy touch panel. Thee blower motor did not activate, nor gas fire up, nor did I hear the pump switch to the increased RPM’s.

Please tell us if the heater fully works ok, when the fireman's switch is closed???
If the heater does not fully work, with the fireman's switch closed (Jumpered) then it has to be a heater problem..
All the EasyTouch does is close the fireman's loop when it wants the heater to run, or open the fireman's loop when it does not want the heater to run.
When you jumper the fireman's switch at the heater, you have taken the EasyTouch out of the system..

Your new heater board is not a genuine Pentair but a clone. We have seen many problems with the clone heater boards that resolve when a genuine Pentair board is installed.
Once the Fireman's switch is jumpered the problem cannot be in the EasyTouch.
We know little about how to fix a heater with a clone PCB other than to replace it with a genuine Pentair PCB and return the clone PCB for a refund, if you can..
