Your pump failed because the seal leaked/wore out and damaged the bearings. It happens to all pumps eventually. My EcoStar is 15 years old and zero issues, regardless of the opinion of others. And it was one of the series that Hayward had issues with.

New pumps are in the $200.00-$3000.00 range now. Unless you get another Hayward it would require a re-plumb to some extent.

Do you use the WiFi for the Omni? Most have found it a "toy" after the newness wears off. If not, a Nidec Neptune NPTQ270 motor will bolt to the pump and give you control over speeds, schedules, etc. right on the pump. With a GO KIT 80V about $750.00. Not a hard install and no changes to the impeller or plumbing.

You can get a "power end" for that pump, but it won't have the Omni control. It is everything except the front housing of the pump. You remove the power, remove the six bolts holding the pump together, remove the old and install the new by reversing the process. Reprogram and you are done. Easy. About $1500.00. You may even be able to remove the control from the existing pump and install it on the new and keep the Omni control. Never tried it.

Unless you are familiar with replacing motor bearings, find a motor shop and have them do it. If you are, its quite easy if you have the tools as a VSP motor is simpler than a standard pool motor. I've done it on the tailgate of my truck. Most shops in my area now charge about $300.00 to do the job and only give a 90-day warranty on the bearings alone.

Yes, the shaft seal leaked. That's what damaged the front bearing. You will still need a GO KIT 80V. That has the shaft seal and O rings needed to reinstall the motor. If you have a motor shop do the work, they will likely require you to also purchase a new seal from them as well, it seems to be the practice of motor shops in my area.
