Polaris Motor - Thermal Trip?

Folks,
This motor will run for about 10 seconds then cut out. About 20 or so seconds after that there is a click which I think is a thermal reset. At that point you can start the motor again for another 20 secs and the motor is getting quite hot.. I'm not sensing any rough bearing noise when I spin the impeller manually but it sounds rough when switched on? Thoughts? I'm thinking it's not the motor capacitor as the motor does run but it would be nice if it was something as easy as that.
Unfortunately I cannot upload a video, wrong file type apparently.
Thanks

What model Polaris motor are we discussing?

Put your hand on the motor. If it is a thermal trip the motor will be too hot to keep your hand on it.

Is the motor wired for the correct voltage? Check the voltage with a multimeter and the wiring.

Load your video to YouTube, Mark it Public, and post a link to it here.

Thanks,
Please see pic attached.
Yes, the motor gets too hot to touch. I'll check the supply voltage in case there is something amiss there. It runs off its own timer but with one phase connected across to the main pump timer such that main pump needs to be running before polaris pump will fire up.

The motor data plate does not tell me what model pump you have.

Post pictures of the entire pump.

Has any maintenance been done to the pump - replacing the motor or impeller?
