Draining after using ascorbic acid

Heavier staining may need additional AA applications.

I do not circulate the pool water with the AA in it. I have a heater and do not want the water with AA in it going through the heater.

As Allen said, if the stains do not come off with your first application and after brushing really well to mix the water, then add more AA at the spots that are remaining.

24-36 hours should remove most stains. If the stains are from copper, ascorbic acid won’t touch them. If they are organic stains, ascorbic acid will not lift them. You don’t want to leave the water in the pool too long as AA reduces free chlorine to zero and you can cause an algae bloom.
