My closing plan involves doing the Ascorbic Acid treatment, then as soon as the iron staining has lifted, dump the water to winter level, theoretically taking like half the iron with it and hopefully diluting it enough in the spring, that I won't have to maintain sequestrant dosages in the future. (Likely source of iron has been identified and removed, and the staining isn't that extreme.)

Given that, I'd like to dump as much as I safely can.

Given that, what is the minimum amount of water recommended to be left in the pool to prevent possible damage? About a foot left in the shallow end, right?

Liner pool.

Thanks for confirming what I thought. We'll see what I decide, but I may even consider exchanging a little bit more of the water that is left, after dumping what I can.
