Aiper Scuba S1 Review

I bought my s1 & surfer as a bundle from Aiper last June. My surfer got replaced by them the 2nd week. Super easy and helpful support. My scuba has ran pretty much daily since I got it. No issues YET.

Mine arrived yesterday. Charged it for about an hour to get to full, not sure where it was to begin with. Dropped it in the pool on auto mode. Took my kid to soccer, occasionally checked camera to see what it was doing, came home, it was parked and my pool was clean. It went up the steps and side walls no issues. If it lasts more than 3yrs it's worth it. Kinda stupid the charge port cap isn't waterproof. Can't imagine that being good for the battery and electronics in general.

I am glad to have found this forum and thanks to all the folks for their input on the Aiper Scuba S1. Due to soaring energy cost in my area, I have been interested in a independent robotic cleaner. I have a 25 year old 40X20 free form inground pool with an attached spillover hot tub/spa. I have had several pool cleaners over the years and they all have their strengths and weaknesses. A neighbor has a corded robotic cleaner but unhappy with the cord tangling up constantly. After reading many reviews on the Aiper S1 I decided to make a purchase. I bought it directly from the company and saved a few bucks using their promo code. I initially got a purchase confirmation but its now been over a week and no further word on the status of my order. Their website has a tracking link, but it just shows "in process" under my order status. Very disappointing with their lack of communication following my purchase. I hope it is not a sign of further disappointments.

You may have a bit of a wait, they are probably overwhelmed with the Seagull recall, replacing with S1's. They told me end of April or May. And who knows with all the economic uncertainties. Hopefully we get them sooner!

I ordered mine in March and website said in process on the day it arrived. It was under 2 weeks. I can imagine tariffs will be wrecking this for awhile. Many in the group have experienced good communication with them so keep the faith that they will treat you well.

I just posted this on a different thread but feel like this one may be more suitable for the question at hand….

I’m literally about to pull the trigger on one today. Leaning towards S1zzz

With all the discounts/coupons it would run about $479-519 in between the S1 ($479) and Seagull Pro Cordless ($519)

Is it a total waste of money? My pool is very small (12X8- pic attached from this morning) I just built it but looking for something to clear out small crushed pebbles from garden and various debris from the garden.

Realizing real fast that the white plaster I had installed shows every worm/bug/leaf

Also, from reading everyone’s reviews and thousands of others on google lol. It seems like Aiper customer service is pretty on point as long as your within that 2 YR Warranty Period

Very nice pool and garden.
I think it will do a good job however it will have to do a lot of turning in that 12x8 pool. I would get just the S1. I have been pleased with it.

Oddly enough the price has changed since I looked at 4:30AM when I was in the gym lol

It seems that have a “Flash Sale” on a daily basis in early morning hours?

Bizarre but useful if your up early I guess 🤔

My Aiper S1 suddenly appeared at my front door. It was very well packaged. I charged it up and dropped it in the pool set on floor only mode. It went from the shallow end straight to the deep end where it stayed and could never climb the incline to return to the shallow end. Additionally, the fine silt/dirt is not trapped and gets expelled back into the pool through the exhaust port. It did pick up leaves in the bottom of the deep end. I'll try other settings to see if there is any improvement but very disappointed so far.

I believe the filter is the same as the Seagull Pro, 180 micron. Definitely not fine enough. Still waiting on my S1 (3 weeks).

Mine still works fine. I just don't clean the filter every time, in fact it's rare. I think it filters better after there's some buildup that reduces the pore size...

Mine still working since November - not very long yet - here's to hoping. I'm actually impressed with the filtering size. It seems to be able to pickup very very fine silt. Now if it would just get the horizontal bench surfaces and the corners between the wall and the floor. I am going to try their vacuum the Pilot H2 and see how it goes. I know most people seem to opt for the poolblaster max, but I love my Scuba S1 and like the filter size personally. I need to get to the spa and the steps and corners of the pool.

I know every area has it's own issues to deal with - each with their own particle size. Here we have lots of pollen (oak and mountain cedar) and a couple times a year we have saharan dust storms that somehow dump tons of dust. The Scuba S1 has been awesome at clearing that right up.

I agree with SetSailSoon in that some of the particulates get stuck in the mesh and I don't work hard at removing it as it does seem to filter better.

My S1 just arrived today (Thursday). I ordered from Lowe's on Sunday for $500 with a 3 year extended warranty for another $70. I noticed that round part of the charging port is threaded. The part that the rubber cap goes into. I wonder if this is a remnant of an older design iteration? To me, a cap that screws on over the port (maybe with a rubber o-ring) could be much better at preventing water intrusion than the rubber cap we have now. I'll look into 3D printing something if I can figure out the thread pattern and proper size.

It could have ridges to make a friction fit for the rubber cap. Ensure it is an actual thread and not just circular ridges if you plan to make a threaded plug.

I agree it needs to be improved. Each time I open it water drips out of the connector. So I roll up a tissue or cloth or sometimes a Q-tip and dry it out. If I don't do this it will start with a red blinking light instead of yellow. Guessing that's not good.

I don't have mine yet, but on my Seagull I put some silicone grease (that I use on pump o-ring), on the rubber. Helps it slide on and seals well. Looks like it would work on this in a couple spots.
