Hey guys, I am currently looking to replace my dead Dolphin discovery and money is tight so I am thinking about a refurbished Nautilus cc or refurbished E20.
They seem to be about the same so I don't understand why they are sold as different models.
Does anyone know if there are any differences or just the looks?
 
Thanks, yes I thought they were the same. I don't understand why it is sold as so many different models. While looking at this I was reading some other threads and came accross the Aqua Products Evo 502. Looks like it is on sale for $499 and is brand new and does waterline. Any thoughts on if a refurbished dolphin Naitilus cc would be better than a brand new Aqua Products Evo 502? Seems like the Aqua Products Evo 502 has a bit better specs and options for only $50 more brand new.
 
It only has 114 reviews on Amazon and it appears to be a new budget model.

Maybe it came out late last year, allowing some to post reviews. Most of the country still has closed pools.


*edit. Nevermind. I logged in to read the reviews and they date back at least to 2021.
 
The refurbished dolphin will only have a 1 year warranty
The new evo will have a 2 yr warranty
Check with your cc about extended warranty protections available.
Looks like they should accomplish the same tasks -
The nautilus cc requires you to put it in automation mode if you want any other schedule besides the basic ones available on the controller. This is what i have done.

It is unclear if you are able to use the iaqualink app with this budget/online evo model to set schedules etc. may want to shoot them an email to confirm.
if you don’t need scheduled cleaning then the evo is probably the best option due to warranty.
So far other members here have been satisfied with their other evo models.
Time will tell as far as longevity goes compared to dolphin models.
Submersible bots don’t live super long lives these days but they sure are handy.
My nautilus cc refurb lived 3.5 seasons submerged and operating daily for 7months each season before the motor gave up the ghost.
 
Yeah, I agree the submersibles don't live long. However, I got out my hose and vacuum head and after a few days I opted to purchase the Aquabot 614IQ because marina pool had them on sale.
From talking to others you basically have to pay up for the $800 versions otherwise it may not get out of your deep end.

I am going to try washing my new aquabot off each time after I use it (most times...at least a few times) and I will store it in my shed and see if I can get any more life out of it that way.

It makes me wonder if they are better just left in the pool so they don't experience the temperature changes or stored in a shed?
